Job Description

• Ability to plan, execute, monitor, and control the design & engineering aspects of a project to achieve key project objectives (i.e., timelines, cost, quality, and performance criteria).
• Has knowledge of mechanical equipment, specifications, features, and their functioning
• Applies design & engineering principles while preparing drawings, schematics and ensures manufacturability, constructability & safety aspects
• Lead technical discussions with clients along with the Project Manager
• Performs engineering calculations, sizing and evaluation of related equipment and keeps performance & cost factors in mind
• Tests & evaluates designs as per specifications and maintains design / engineering quality standards with "first time right" approach
• Uses principles/techniques of value engineering to evaluate alternatives and arrives at cost effective solution
• Quickly identify issues and risks related to the engineering activities identifying and implementing the required mitigation actions
• Coordination with various disciplines and vendors for inputs required for the design.
• Verify the project documentation (technical specifications, drawings, calculations) and ensure its communication/explanation to the other parties involved in the project
• Provide inputs to the Project Manager in the selection of the Engineering subcontractors

Skills

• Sound Technical Knowledge in relevant field (Process, Electricals, Piping & Instrumentation)
• Process and Functional Knowledge (including CAD)
• Exposure to major client / PMCs specifications and guidelines
• Should have in-depth knowledge of power plant packages i.e., Boiler, Turbine, ACC/WCC, FHS, AHS, WTP and BOP.
• Experience of 10 to 15 years

The incumbent should have an experience in designing of Power Plant. Knowledge of Software like SteamPro, CAESAR II will be an added advantage.
