Lead Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Review of Equipment GA drawings, Layouts & Piping Drawings
• Checking of drawings & Bill of Materials.
• Review of Equipment Fabrication drawings & Bill of Materials for Fabrication.
• Planning the overall work and resources in line with Project schedule.
• Co-ordinate with Project Engineers & Project Managers for smooth design.
• Checking all contract documentation and ensuring compliance.
• Critical review of Design Calculations.
• Provide technical support to Sales, Marketing.
• Visit customer sites to support sales for new proposals, retrofit and renovation, and project execution.
• Analysis and Design of Steel Structures.
• Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
• Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Lead teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
• Implementation of corrective and preventive action based on site / Mfg./customer feedback/Trackers.
• Ensure right first time of engineering releases.
• Responsible for Training and development of Engineering Team.

Skills & Knowledge

• You should be knowledgeable about air pollution control equipment design calculations, retrofit and renovation concepts and ducting layouts and balance of plant activities.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of Estimation
• Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization.
• Good understanding of Static equipment design.
• Excellent user of CAD tools (AutoCAD, Solid Edge)
• Knowledge of CAE tools (ANSYS, Staad Pro, ANSYS Fluent)
• Proven experience working within a design department.
• PLM/PDM Software
• Team player
• Understanding of P&IDs
• Attitude to learn new technology
