Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Datacom Developer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in C programming and have extensive experience working with L2/L3 protocols and network devices. This role requires a strong understanding of control plane and data plane concepts, excellent debugging skills, and the ability to work with large codebases.

Responsibilities :

Software Development :

- Design, develop, and implement software solutions for datacom products, focusing on L2/L3 protocols and networking functionalities.

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented C code.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Protocol Implementation and Testing :

- Implement and test L2/L3 protocols on network switches and routers.

- Troubleshoot and resolve protocol-related issues.

- Utilize traffic generators like IXIA and Spirent for testing and validation.

Control Plane and Data Plane Development :

- Develop and maintain control plane and data plane functionalities.

- Understand and implement complex networking algorithms and data structures.

- Optimize performance and scalability of networking software.

Debugging and Troubleshooting :

- Analyze and debug complex software issues in a networking environment.

- Utilize debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve root causes.

- Read and understand large and complex codebases.

Collaboration and Communication :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and develop solutions.

- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Participate in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions.

Documentation :

- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.

- Document code changes and debugging procedures.

Required Skills and Experience :

Programming : Strong proficiency in C programming.

Networking :

- Extensive experience with L2/L3 protocols (e.g., Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, VLANs, Routing Protocols).

- Hands-on experience working with network switches and routers.

- Deep understanding of control plane and data plane concepts.

Testing :

- Experience using traffic generators like IXIA and Spirent.

Problem Solving :

- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.

Code Understanding :

- Ability to read and understand large and complex codebases.

Communication :

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.1 -1.

- 4 to 10 years of experience in datacom software development.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with specific L2/L3 protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, MPLS).

- Experience with embedded systems development.

- Knowledge of network security concepts.

- Experience with Linux operating systems.

- Experience with network virtualization technologies.
