Job Description

Designation: Service Head

Reporting To: COO (Chief Operating Officer).

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the installation and commissioning of large power transformers.
• Assist in technical support on issues in the field, factory, or customer requests.
• Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.
• Responsible for overseeing installation of all external parts and components of transformers in accordance with individual installation instructions.
• Guides Field Service Supervisors through the testing of transformer alongside the customer engineers.
• Applies advanced skills to resolve very complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices.
• Responsible for overseeing that Field Service Supervisors thoroughly document job activities through written reports.
• Perform up-front investigations on transformer issues that arise to include Root Cause Analysis.
• Act as a professional communicator and representative of HPT to customers, sales reps, and vendors.
• Support HPT positively in public and customer relations with all involved.
• Presents a positive image of the company and of oneself as a person who represents business for or of the company.
• Observes all company policies during the workday and maintains honesty and integrity in all business affairs.
• This includes professional communication, and zero tolerance for harassment of others at any time.

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in power transformer manufacturing industry.
• Diploma or BE Electrical and Electronics Engineer.
• Transformer installation experience
  Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills.
• Knowledge of electrical testing of transformers
  Vacuum oil processing knowledge.
• Connecting the external wiring of the transformer
  Instruction and guiding subcontractors, supervisors in all matters of the erection and commissioning.
• Experience pre-commissioning tests onsite Inspection and maintenance of transformers.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Previously demonstrated Professional Management skill in additional to technical skill required.
• Ability to coordinate and manage customer relationships at all times day or night when ever needed to meet customer expectations
  Calm professional demeanor.
• Ability to understand company handbook rules and requirements and maintain consistence with all subordinates in fair equally rules administration.
• Maintains daily accurate time keeping and verification for all field service members from onsite start time and off-site end of day working time, accurately and verified for correct time keeping in payroll.
• Must meet all customer and HPT safety and environmental rules and requirements at all times and oversee the HPT teams EHS compliance.
• Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, Arc Flash, and LOTO regulations and can teach team members or subordinates.
• Should be crane and rigging knowledgeable

Working Conditions:

This position will be mostly in a business office setting. While some travel is necessary, including to international destinations. Job requires some exposure to the elements at customer installation sites. Extended periods of Walking, Standing, Working at Heights, Bending, and Crouching may be required at any time.

Heavy lifting or more may sometimes be required in transformer loading /unloading and set up. Exposure to various safety hazards including high voltage electricity, heavy machinery, working at heights and with canes and heavy loads, also working with various chemicals.
