Supply Chain Manager for Manufacturing Client based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Position Overview:

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the end-to-end supply chain for sheet metal components, focusing on both demand planning and logistics. The role requires strong expertise in forecasting, inventory management, and logistics operations to ensure efficient flow from raw material sourcing to finished goods delivery. The ideal candidate will drive process efficiency, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction through strategic planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement supply chain strategies for sheet metal components, aligning with company goals and customer requirements.

- Lead demand planning activities, including forecasting market demand, analyzing sales trends, and collaborating with sales, marketing, and production teams to ensure accurate projections.

- Manage procurement of raw materials, ensuring timely sourcing and optimal inventory levels to meet production schedules.

- Oversee logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, shipment scheduling, and documentation of export orders.

- Monitor and maintain inventory, ensuring stock levels are adequate to meet demand without surplus or shortages.

- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve supply chain issues.

- Optimize warehouse operations, including receipt, inspection, and storage of goods prior to shipment.

- Track and report key performance indicators such as order fulfilment rate, inventory turnover, and delivery timelines.

- Lead and mentor the supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.

- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in sheet metal or manufacturing industries.

- Proven expertise in demand planning, forecasting, and logistics management.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in ERP and demand planning software.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

- Demonstrated experience in supplier management, procurement, and inventory control.

- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.

- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

- Experience with export documentation and international logistics

- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and supply chain analytics tools.
