JOB SUMMARY

As a Desktop Support Engineer in WSP you will provide technical assistance to our clients. You will be installing, upgrade and troubleshoot hardware and software systems. Robust knowledge in creating and analyzing the incidents models on various Tools and applications, using intellectually concepts and implement action- oriented solutions to complex business IT problems.

 

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to computer hardware, desktops, laptops, printers, Telephone system and other peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoot issues with operating systems, applications, and other software to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including software updates, and patch management.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Manage and maintain IT assets, keeping inventory up to date.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding procedures, ensuring that new hires have the necessary IT setup.
  • Maintain accurate records of all support tickets/requests, including issues encountered, steps taken, and resolution status.
  • Document standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and other technical documentation.
  • Update and manage knowledge bases for future reference.
  • Work closely with other IT team members to address more complex issues or escalations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware repairs, replacements, or other technical services.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of IT policies and procedures.
  • Assist in IT projects, such as hardware rollouts, office moves, and system upgrades.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas where IT services can be enhanced.
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a positive, professional attitude in all interactions.
  • Address customer queries with patience, offering clear explanations and solutions.
  • Provide support during business hours and, occasionally, outside regular hours for critical issues or scheduled maintenance.
  • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
  • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Hardware and software information.    
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Incident and service request Management.
  • Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role.

Technical Experience: -

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow Ticketing tool.
  • Experience with OS imaging and deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, Autopilot, OSD).
  • Experience with hardware diagnostics and repairs. Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues and perform upgrades (RAM, hard drives, etc.).
  • Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting common business software (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices for incident and problem management.
  • Experience with password management and MFA (multi-factor authentication).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with non-technical users.
  • Ability to handle and resolve escalations effectively.
  • Applications – Core, Business & Corporate Application Troubleshooting.
  • Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related desktop support, Video Conferencing support, VIP support.
  • Introduce new ideas and processes which improve performance and productivity.
  • Problem solver with the ability to encourage others in collaborative problem solving. Acting as both a broker and consultant regarding resources, you engage others in problem solving without taking over.

Qualifications: -

  • BA/BCA /BCom/BTech / Graduate Science.
  • ITIL V4 Foundation certified
  • Certification in MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or similar. will be an added advantage
