Job Description
- Regularly owns and completes scope on complex projects across digital and structural engineering
- Perform parametric and generative designs on a project needs basis
- Guide and train team members from the structural team to build skills through completing the project work
- Work with structures digital leadership to develop key custom structural engineering tools as prioritized by business and project needs
- Focus on sprint development, balancing need for quick solutions
- Maintain, improve and further develop existing tools
- Contribute to strategic R&D initiatives such as development of AI based tools to support engineering design and quality control
Key Competencies / Skills:
- Over 5 years of experience working in design and delivery of structural engineering projects for buildings.
- Experience with common structural design platforms such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Python, VBA (Excel), and CSI software APIs.
- Basic working knowledge with common AI models and machine learning.
- Willingness to learn additional programming languages and software development platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to regularly enhancing technical and professional skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and very organized.
Value Add:
- Prior knowledge of Grasshopper/Rhino.
- Prior experience with GUI development is an asset.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platforms.
- Experience with Revit API or Dynamo.
- Web development skills including back-end and/or front-end.
