Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Fixed Assets Verification is responsible for overseeing and managing the verification, tracking, and auditing of the company's fixed assets to ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. This senior-level position will lead the fixed asset verification process across all locations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the asset register. The role will also drive process improvements, technology enhancements, and compliance efforts related to fixed asset verification and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fixed Assets Verification & Auditing:
- Lead and manage the comprehensive fixed asset verification process, including physical counts, reconciliation with the asset register, and ensuring that all assets are properly tagged and tracked.
- Develop and implement asset verification strategies, ensuring regular and periodic audits to identify discrepancies and take corrective action.
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end process for fixed asset audits, including planning, executing, and reporting on asset verification results.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and legal/regulatory requirements for fixed assets.
- Work closely with external auditors to support annual fixed asset audits, addressing any audit findings related to asset verification and resolving discrepancies.
2. Process Improvement & Control:
- Establish and enhance asset verification processes and procedures to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and reduce the risk of errors or fraud.
- Identify and implement automation solutions and technology to optimize asset verification and tracking, ensuring real-time visibility of asset status.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate fixed asset management systems (e.g., ERP, asset management software) with other financial systems to ensure seamless tracking and reporting of asset data.
- Develop and maintain a clear process for asset disposals, transfers, and write-offs, ensuring all necessary approvals and documentation are in place.
3. Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of asset verification reports, highlighting discrepancies, asset conditions, and necessary actions for correction or disposal.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management on asset performance, risks, and areas of improvement in asset tracking and verification processes.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with finance, procurement, operations, and IT departments to ensure accurate asset verification and efficient asset lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with the internal audit team to assess and improve fixed asset controls and ensure that asset management aligns with company policies and external regulations.
- Advise business units on asset-related issues, including acquisitions, disposals, and capital expenditures, ensuring proper verification and documentation.
Required Qualification, Experience, Skills & Competencies
- CA Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in fixed asset management, asset verification, or related field.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale fixed asset audits and verifications across multiple locations or business units.
- In-depth knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and verification processes.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and asset management software.
- Strong technical expertise in asset verification processes, including physical counts, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to senior management and cross-functional teams.
