- OMA has won an international competition to revitalize Tirana's Selman Stërmasi Stadium and its surrounding urban blocks. The project aims to strengthen the link between the two neighborhoods, Blloku and Komuna e Parisit, by creating a mixed-use development with new apartments, hotel, offices, retail, and food and beverage venues. The design draws inspiration from Albania's ancient architectural history and incorporates elements from the Stadium of Amantia, a third-century BCE structure carved into the mountains. The seating capacity of the stadium will be expanded from 9,500 to 15,000 for an improved football-viewing experience.
- The development includes a triangular entrance plaza that can be used for both match days and everyday activities, creating a flexible civic space. The project will be carried out in collaboration with LOLA Landscape Architects, Royal Haskoning DHV, and artist Petrit Halilaj.
