Good work culture and management is also friendly. If you are able to your and issue is genuine,they will understand and not blame. However they will ask you to only to deal with situation.

Your work life balance will depend on project and on you how you are dealing, you have to deal with client directly for this, if you ask manager to forward you issue they will ask you to direct contact with client .
