Breaking into Spring Boot: Advice needed!
Hey everyone,
I'm a Senior SDE with 3 years of experience, solid in core Java and middleware tools (low-code). I know Spring Boot at a basic level, but haven't used it in real projects. My current company can't give me that exposure.
I'm aiming to switch to a core Java/Spring Boot role at another company. Is it tough to make that jump? Any tips on how to answer questions about project experience in interviews?

Not tough bro, but you gotta back it up with side projects. Build 1–2 mini apps with Spring Boot + REST + DB. In interviews, say you explored it proactively since current project didn’t allow hands-on. Shows initiative 💯

i feel that being honest in your interview about your current level is always on edge. also, prepare well on core Spring concepts

if you're good with core java, the spring boot part is just about practicing a few key things. rest APIs, security (JWT, Oauth), jpa/hibernate, and maybe unit testing with JUnit plus mockito.
