Company waited 90 days for my joining, but I might get a better offer before last working day - what should I do?

I have an offer of 10 LPA from Company A(WITCH). My Last working day is 2nd June. I am still giving interviews and might get better offers. Comapny A is really invested in my Joining and they are calling every week to confirm same and they also already shared credentials for the Client I will be working for. They waited 90 day for me and now I am in dilemma of what if I get better offer close to Last Working Day. How will I deal with it? YOE - 3 Potential offers might be 12-13 LPA

This happened with me last year. I had an offer, they waited 60 days, were calling me every week like a clingy ex but then I got a better offer, and I felt sooo guilty! But let me tell you they will replace you in 2 days if needed.

[cigerrateaddict](username) how soon did you inform them that you are not joining? I just got credentials for the Client I would be working for them....They seem way to invested and I am feeling extremely guilty(Which I shouldn't).

Just keep interviewing. If you get a better offer, go with it. A company waiting 90 days is their business decision, not your burden.

I too had the same experience recently and one of the company waited for 85 days and then I told them that I got another offer. Don't feel bad or something because it's just business for them and for us as well. My advice is just before ten days of joining, tell them that you've another offer and you would need 2 or 3 lakhs more than the counter offer. If he agrees to it, then go to the other company and ask them to give 1 or 2 lakhs more than the counter offer. Keep doing this until one of the company backs off. Stay confident and just tell them that's it. One of my friend did the same recently and his package went up to 42 fixed (initial offer was 32 fixed).

[harmoniousshako](username) Intresting and thanks for advice but the problem is its already 10 days and I don't have other final offers yet it may take 5-7 days more that's why I am feeling guilty because then I would be so close to joining.

10 LPA is decent but if someone gives 13 - 14, you take it. One job jump can change your entire 1 - 2 year plan. Go with logic, not emotions.

[dhoklakhaega](username) Exactly my plan but for some reason Feeling very guilty because this was the only company accepting my 90 np and they the Client pushed for my desired salary as well.

I was in your shoes last year. Had accepted an offer of X from this company A, they sent me a laptop and created accounts and all. I got another offer which was 40% more than X, I called and told them I won't be able to join, returned the laptop and this year received a 12% hike which gets me 60% more of what I would have got had I not ditched them. At the end it's all about 💰

hhappened to me. Got 3 offers in notice. Took the best one and wrote a polite email to others. No guilt. It’s your careernot theirs.

[a technical lead](username) inform them as soon as possible. If you think your highest offer is bit dicey then keep one for backup which you'd inform on last day.

Bro this is super common. Until you join, you owe them nothing. 3Y experience guys get counteroffers all the time in the final week.

Don’t be emotional as recruiters don’t reflect corporates or to be precise your team, reporting manager or work culture. They have waited because you are the candidate available with least package despite having necessary skills. Make the smart move and take your career to better direction because that you will be valued basis latest profile when next opportunity comes knocking.

Inform them anyways before a second untill you have not signed any legal framework with them.

Your first and sole responsibility is it to yourself and your family. You are just a number for any company, so make sure the number they owe you is bigger and better.

If you don't want to feel guilty, just tell them that you have got a new offer of 12 ctc and you can ask them if they are willing to renegotiate. Most probably they will match the ctc. Saying this from experience. Happened with me.

Go for the better offer. Get a new offer letter and inform the other company. That's it

Don't feel guilty, this is a corporate game of counter offers, better offer makes you long term benefits 😄

Don't worry in this case if you get a better offer just ask the WITCH to match it. They will definitely do it

You must not break the trust of the company. I don't agree with the excuse that they'll fire you in 2 days, because you can also resign one fine day. If you break the trust today, 100 genuine candidates having 3 months' notice will not be given an opportunity in the future. Your actions can potentially punish many more candidates.
😄 90 day's is market reality. They won't get anyone before 90 day's they are not doing you any favour.

There are few companies who blacklists candidates for the absconding. If you are ok with that, feel free to abscond. It's just that you may not able to join that company ever in your career

What I followed when I got offer in 90 days notice period is that once I got another better offer and good company. One or Two opportunity I told 1st company no at that moment so they don't need to wait for long time. Anyway I secured better job, why to keep them on hold for 2-3 months. You can apply this trick. If you use this trick you can just say you will not be able to join as your company is retaining you
