Future of my career- BCA Grad

Hi guys, hope yall are doing well and good. I will be getting straight to point. I am a BCA Final year student and though i know solid basics for web development, our college placements didn't bring many tech/IT opportunities. I gave interviews and got selected in a Real Estate developing group as a "Senior Executive- CRM" in ghaziabad. Although i do want to make a career in IT... here i am using a leasing software, in which we are handling invoicing, leasing(Brand details, sales details for a mall this group made) etc. I have around 2-3 months max before i graduate. How should i take things forward given that i want to go into IT. I know that i have to learn a lot in development and get better but still please provide me some advice. Thank you everyone! Cheers!

Would you be open to testing or support roles in IT to begin with? Sometimes easier to crack than dev roles and can help you move internally later.

I think your leasing software experience might still count as domain knowledge if you ever shift into product or tech roles in real estate. Can be a unique angle to pitch yourself.

Honestly I’d suggest start applying to internships in dev roles, even unpaid ones if possible. Just to get your foot in the door and show some real work on your resume.

I would suggest here is to pick one specific, in-demand technology and become really good at it. In noida, react.js and node.js are quite popular. Choose one, find a good online course and dedicate serious time to it at least one two hours every day

what kind of web dev are you into? Frontend/backend? Maybe you can find a mentor or small gig to start gaining real experience now itself.

Have you tried contributing to open source projects? Even small contributions can help you build a dev profile and learn from real codebases. Worked for me!

Thoda patience rakh, keep practicing dev skills and maybe explore freelancing too. Work ke baad 1-2 hrs daily kaafi hota hai agar focus ho.

Bro same boat here, joined a nontech role but heart’s still in development. Maybe use this job to support yourself while upskilling on the side? Udemy, YT, build projects, and slowly shift?
