Hello, I got 32L CTC offer from TCS as an IAM associate consultant. Is it a good package considering I have 10.9 years of experience and in IAM 3.6 years? Rest of the experience is in dot net. Also, TCS is considering 10.2 experience only as some process on their side. Please share your thoughts on the offered package and the experience part. Thank you in advance.

Day to Day Office

Not even asking for a promotion or raise ,  just a basic compliment.
Did a hellish product launch. Pulled late nights. Client was thrilled.
Manager’s only comment: “Cool, let’s prep for next sprint.”

Why is it so hard to get acknowledged at work?
A “well done” costs nothing. A “this helped us a lot” takes 5 seconds.

Sometimes I think they worry we’ll start expecting more if they say anything nice.
But honestly? We already do more. Some recognition might just make us want to stay.

Anyone else feel this way or have managers who actually appreciate your work out loud?

Why Are So Many Managers Afraid of Saying ‘Good Job’?

So there’s this junior in my team who once opened up to me about being gay. I appreciated his honesty and have always treated him with respect (just like I do with everyone). But now things are getting... weird. 

He acts super attached to me, wants to sit next to me in every meeting, sticks around during office events, and behaves like I’m the only person who matters. 😳

Iam married and senior to him, but his attention is getting too much and honestly, people have started noticing and talking. I don’t want to be rude or hurtful but I'm just being my usual nice but now I feel stuck.

How do you set boundaries without making it awkward? 😅

Career Growth

I'm currently working in an OEM, mainly involved in Adaptive AUTOSAR with a focus on R&D and requirement-related tasks, but with limited hands-on coding. I’m planning to transition to a software developer role and have started strengthening my C++ and Data Structures & Algorithms skills.

I'm also interested in moving to a product-based company. Continuing in Adaptive AUTOSAR will mostly limit me to the automotive domain. Can I still get into a product-based company by staying in this domain, or is it better to shift to another area like backend development or core software engineering?

Can I continue in Adaptive AUTOSAR and still grow in my career, or would it be better to move to another domain for broader opportunities?

What would be the best path to take, and what skills or experience should I focus on to make this switch successfully? Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated.

If you're in IT, you might want to think twice about joining one of those big "Big 4" companies here in India. Sure, the paycheck might look bigger, but get ready to work your tail off.

From what I've seen, these Big 4 places in India often send you to work directly with clients here, and sometimes these clients can really pile on the work. Plus, the projects don't usually last very long, and you'll probably be doing more analyzing and checking things rather than actually building stuff. You might also find yourself traveling to some pretty random places.

Guess what else eats up your time? Writing up those project proposals. 

Big 4s are now doing the ongoing IT support that WITCH companies usually do. Also, a key thing, if you're a manager or want to be one, you'll need to bring in sales, or you could be let go after a couple of years.

So, yeah, just think really carefully before you jump into a Big 4 company. It might not be the best fit for everyone in IT.

Why Big 4 Might Not Be the Dream for IT Folks?

I'm a big introvert, so being around people for too long makes me super tired. All I want to do is read or watch something when I'm not working. I always thought being a computer person would be more of a me and my screens in a dark room kind of thing, you know? That's partly why I even studied this stuff!

Honestly, sometimes I just want to eat my sandwich in peace. My mom always told us not to talk while eating, like you might choke. Makes sense to me! So why's lunchtime this big talk fest?

And get this , I'm trying to eat healthier, smaller portions and stuff, right? And this one older guy at work always has something to say about my food. like, can't he just leave me alone to eat my little bit of lunch? I just wanna do my job and get my paycheck. I don't really care about chatting about politics or what everyone did on my food break.
