Help me, I am confused
- I earn 6 lpa.
- My company has given me the title of senior developer just for developing few python prototypes for them.
- I am interested in product or UI/UX design
- I wish I had 4x of my current salary
- I have 2 and half years experience in a business process services organisation that is a body shop, could be called an IT company but less so
- I am in my 30s, need to get married soon
WHAT SHOULD BE MY NEXT STEP TO ADVANCE MYSELF?

You should focus on two key areas one is skill development and the second is networking. Start by diving into product management or UI/UX design courses. Build a strong portfolio showcasing your Python projects and any design work you've done.

As a rule of thumb, startups are usually not very stable but have a high learning and upskill potential. Perfect for upskilling.
However, be warned that salary for such a firm is often dependent on how much it makes. Check the terms when interviewing/ review the contract.
Established firms are more stable but are often gated by tenure.
Find the right balance when you're job hunting. Don't jump up on the very first opportunity. Research and see where you find the right balance or learning, earning and if it lines with your career growth plan.
Besides that I would pretty much echo the comments from the other replies on this post. I'd say that's very much on point.

If your heart lies in product or UI/UX design, start learning and building a portfolio. Remember, every journey starts with a single step. best of luck๐

"I am in my 30s, need to get married soon "
Hold your marriage decision as of now till you fix your salary package, You can handle everything after marriage,Growth/Upskilling etc but if you are at 6LPA as of now. Please don't even think about marriage till you at least reach 8LPA or above.
