An Assistant Manager
I got the job, and I think my last question sealed it.
Been job hunting since April 2024. Finally landed the offer in May 2025. A whole year of rejections gave me plenty of time to sharpen my interview game.
One thing that really stood out in my final round? The closing question.
I asked:
“In your opinion, what’s the difference between a candidate who’s good at this role vs. one who’s excellent?”
After they answered (which I wrote down), I replied:
“That really helps me understand where I need to focus as I grow into this role.”
Got an email for references an hour later.
To be clear, I prepped hard for this interview. The question didn’t carry all the weight, but it definitely left a strong impression.
Hope it helps someone out there. Don't give up, your “yes” is coming.
