I am a fresher and got a job in ey gds as audit associate (statutory). I just have a b.com degree with major in Accounting and Finance. Can anyone tell me how is the work life balance and personal growth in the company?

Day to Day Office

Okay so I usually crib non-stop about working night shifts🙄 (because let’s be real...sleep-deprived, ghost-town office ke scenes, or bhai vending machine dinners), but tonight hit different.

Around 2:45 AM, someone casually mentioned Operation Sindoor post-Pahalgam tragedy. Never thought I’d say this, but I actually feel lucky to witness something this important during my night shift on News channel ...All my colleagues were  talking about how their offices might be getting the drill too. Honestly, it felt kinda surreal discussing this while sipping my 3 AM chai.

Anyone else was on the night shift too?🤔

Night shift was never this exciting… ❤️

Went to watch Raid 2 with my family yesterday. Movie time was 7 PM. I had a work meeting scheduled at 6… I thought it'll wrap up by 6:30. But nope it stretched and stretched 

I literally had to keep stepping out of the theatre during intervals to attend the call. My wife was super annoyed (and honestly, I don't blame her). She kept saying, “You knew this would happen, toh plan hi kyun kiya movie ka?” And I was just sitting there like… “Bas 30 mins ka kaam tha yaar.”

This is the sad part of corporate sometimes even your family time feels like it’s borrowed. Has anyone else faced something like this?

I work in a company with hybrid culture, we are supposed to be in office for 10-15 days a month and rest are work from home days.

Now, I personally have been a very diligent and serious employee, so even if I am on WFH, I make sure I give the dedicated hours to my work and be an asset to the company.

My teammate whereas on the other hand, is a very lazy person, he even openly tells me that WFH means leave for him and he hardly opens his laptop on those days.

The disturbing fact is, even with this attitude, he is liked by my manager and no one says anything to him.
Whereas I constantly get criticized by my manager regarding my work and he even pushes me to do more work.

How is this even fair? I cant even go and tell my manager about my teammate because I am sure he won't trust my words and he might even frame this as an attempt to play office politics by me only. I don't want to take this risk.

What am I supposed to do?

My teammate does no Work on WFH days!

Just reached the office, and literally everywhere I look, people are in groups talking about the India-Pak war. Everyone's full of jazba, discussing what they saw on the news last night. The vibe here is giving me chills nobody's really in the mood to work. We are all just glued to updates, wondering what’s going to happen next.
