Received an Offer!!! HELP!!!

Hi, I am a Data Engg with 3 yoe. C CTC - 10.8 + 1.2 VAR + 2 retention I have received a LETTER OF INTENT from a company with CTC - 15 + 1lpa VAR. Now, the other HR wants me to resign from the company and share the last working date and wants me to negotiate my notice period (from 60D to 30-40D). Only then they will be able to share the actual offer letter. They are ready to buy out my notice period if my company allows. The hardest thing is that I will need to pay back 2 lakh retention bonus to my current company if I resign and the new company will not be able to help in this situation

Don't join. Even an offer letter is not a legally binding document. Don't trust HR who does not trust you.

Will serving the notice period of 60-65 days help you retain your bonus ? If yes, then it's advised to serve your complete notice period. Also, don't resign until you get the actual offer letter. LOI is not a legally binding document. Anyway the new company mostly would have a 60-90 days notice period when you join them, so don't go for notice payout. You will have ample of other opportunities. Best of luck

No you should get offer letter then resign, tell this to HR and don’t resign until you get the offer

That LOI sounds nice, but until the actual offer lands, I’d hold off on resigning.
