Regarding Marketing Internship
I told my professor in the PGDM course that I want to do an internship in advertising and branding because I choose Marketing as my core domain. He said if you only think about some specific career and role in marketing, that it is not easy for you to find a specific job in industry. So suppose, if you get the internship as your interest and you have done your work. But during placements, major companies offer you sales roles in the initial start of a career as a fresher. Major companies like Nestle, HUL, ITC etc. first start training with sales. So, he advised me to think about making a career in the retail sector. Is the Retail sector good for a Fresher who is doing PGDM career wise?

Your professor’s point is valid bhai.. Most FMCG giants start freshers in sales to build ground-level understanding.
But if branding is your real passion, try exploring internships in ad agencies or digital firms too. A marketing career doesn’t have one fixed path.

Marketing ka matlab India mein mostly sales hi hota hai, baaki sab dream role hai 😅 But yeah, retail experience builds strong fundamentals

Retail and sales roles are a good starting point. You’ll learn real consumer behavior. Branding ka scope bhi tabhi samajh aata hai jab ground reality dekhi ho
