Its a very structured and procedure driven company. Work life balance is very good. Great place to work. You get to work with experienced people. Salary is good none of their competitors can match what AFW pays. Globally renowned company. Lots of opportunity for onsite jobs. Good culture. My colleagues are part of my family very caring and supportive both professionally and personally.
On the other hand, its a flat organisation. Growth will be very slow. Not much of learning curve for SCM professionals due to the type of EPCM projects
Well being on a project we have no job security, the company was awarded the project because we were the lowest bidder, that said it all, rock bottom salary and everything follows - as the HR people said "Take it or leave it"
We get no training, nothing, one paid home ticket once a year and if your burn up the 25 days annual leave then that is your problem. Was a great company before I joined but now just a body shop.
Every day is a hard push because our contractor, like us was the lowest bidder, lack of skills and job knowledge.

Nothing excited me during my time in Amec Foster Wheeler. Reality is, there is no scope of learning technically or in anyways and there is no possibility of career growth. They treat people like laborers.
It is a waste of time working in Amec Foster Wheeler (Now Woods PLC), Chennai. I don't have any idea about other locations. I guess, it will be better than Chennai office
They have there own support from American companies standard same as Japanese, Korean companies alike as far as project is concern. As long they are doing the right standard even though those who were been hired are not quite right to there position.
Foster Wheeler we knew its an American comapny, they are puting personnel it seems that they are not qualifed to hire somebody since they don't even know what they were hiring for may be just because they are white.They are puting a personnel who are not really incline and really screening the applicants if they are really qualified and what they are looking for te position for sadden. they have interview and let them explain what they are really doing. If they think that's what they are looking for so be it..Hired it....
