Work culture is good, most of the employees will like it, Management is interactive and responsive. Company polices are overall well defined and balanced, need for improvement in promotional policies. Over all the organization is very good and good experience for me.

Dislikes

Job security is not there, they let the employees go easily without caring. It needs the improvement in the promotional policies, promotion should be based on performance and experience. Higher management should recommend performer's to reporting managers and should be decided by both of them, not only at the recommendation of immediate managers.

The organisation provides you a brand name on your CV. And there are free physiotherapy/chiropractor sessions at Vardan (BCCL's fitness venture).

The job security at BCCL has diminished with every passing day. India's biggest media group just needs an excuse to fire employees, especially the ones who have been fulfilling their KRAs. Be it the pandemic, internal restructuring, marker slowdown BCCL will fire its employees & most likely the ones who aren't very well paid. The senior management just lobbies for itself & secure their posts while the ones under them are told to 'resign by the end of the day'. Unless you have a godfather in the BCCL system, you can be targetted anytime. The system at BCCL operates within the set parameters of 'do as you are told' & 'my way or the highway'. The managers at mid level management dont update or upgrade themselves & make life difficult for the ones under them. Trying to develop one's potential or acquiring new skills are looked down upon since the management thrives on blackmailing people by making them habitual of the 'dont upgrade yourself' culture & then blackmailing them by threatening their job once they have become not so fit for hiring by other firms. The training programmes at BCCL are a sham & are in place just for visuals. The HR's role at BCCL is limited to Holi & Rangoli. The HR is programmed to shamelessly favour the person with the higher designation no matter what the situation. The appraisal process has become completely arbitrary & opaque with promotions/hikes granted on the basis of how close the person is to their superiors & not their actual performance. Anyone who believes that Indian politics is dirty, should witness the extent of the back stabbing, corrupt & indecent culture at BCCL. People with absolutely no knowledge of their KRAs & failing to even properly speak to internal & external stakeholders are at the helm of the organisation & decide the career path of those who are much more talented & hard working than them. Rather than dislike I would call it area of improvement. At BCCL I sometimes feel that technological advancement is bit slow and it take lime to reach to full potential of any new tech.

Quite engaing. Best part is when I get to meet whos who of our society and they reciprocate the same warmth for the company and for me as well.
