Hi everyone, I recently went for an interview at HDFC Life for the position of Office Assistant — an administrative, non-sales role. But during the process, I was asked to pay ₹600 for the IRDAI exam, which, to my knowledge, is only required for insurance sales agents, not for admin roles. Things got even stranger when they told me that after clearing the exam, I would need to take a ₹35,000 insurance policy in the name of one of my parents to generate my Employment ID and officially join the company. None of this was mentioned in the job description. I’m honestly feeling a little uneasy about this and wanted to check if anyone else here has faced something similar with HDFC Life or any other insurance company. Is this a normal practice, or does this seem like a red flag? Would really appreciate it if people could share their experiences or advice. Thanks a lot in advance!
