I worked at this company quite sometime back and liked its compensation structure and benefits of its back office division. Nothing elaborate but simple and easy to understand. At that time they used to structure it in such a way that you could get up to 90% of your CTC as gross. Incentives for voice sales processes were additional and were big. Another additional payment used to be night shift allowance. AC Cabs provided home pick up and drops on time. Hefty bonuses were another added attraction. Insurance coverage was limited and only for the employees. Another great thing was their leave policy of mandatory leaves of 10 days (16 calendar days) and 5 days (9 calendar days) which really helped in managing work-life balance.

Dislikes

Adhoc leaves apart from mandatory offs were few. OT payout was poor. Huge difference in terms of work environment, work-life balance between the voice night shift processes and day non-voice processes with the day jobs being the most sought after while the voice night shifts being a real pain due to their graveyard shifts and lack of indian/client public holidays.

I would say only one thing if you want to spoil your career your profile and want to get pissed off by putting great efforts and getting zero benfit then please join HSBC. Last year in 6month 17 people out of 30 left central BM TEAM OF GBM DEPARTEMENT because of pathetic work culture frustating boring work and pathetic the lead of BMs .if there is a resource who has good terms with manager ..trust me even if that resource is a lair and spoils your work ..trust me there would b no action against him or her. Dznt matter how good are you in taking initiatives and dznt matter how honest hardworking and good ideas you have..if you are good at arranging fun friday b'day celebration etc then u really rock!! They put good resources in PIP bcoz the resource wants to change the department for good growth.andwhen resource doesn't agree they literally try to convince you to accept or acknowledge their decision of putting u in PIP by saying m putting other resources in PIP.

Dislikes

No single thing i like bot this org.PLS DNT JOIN GBM CENTRAL BM TEAM!!

Dislikes

The salary they paid is good but the salary is hike is very low every year, there are few processes where the work pressure is more. I use to get apprecaition from my managers but we do not have any promotions.

Work

Started my career in as KYC Analyst, in the beginning i use to deal with UK Clients later i moved to process called INM(indian markets). As i'm Kyc analyst i use to deal with customers identity and verification and also verify the details of the customers

Very good work culture, training provided by company for any process related development, transport facilities is really well maintained and advanced, colleagues are superb with healthy relation as all are interconnected by some way related to work, in terms of growth a bit slow and depend on location wise, internal job posting are there every month or quater, rest office politics are there depends how much one indulged in it. To start with this company salary are a bit low,but hike and bonus is really good.

Dislikes

Related to growty or promotion is a bit less. As new innovation in process hardly comes. Hence either have to apply for different role or move location.

Work

Same daily work role as per my profile as It- analyst. Not needed of programming or testing sort it f things.

Overall is Good and satisfied here. Teammates and colleagues are really helpful and entertaining. Work role is a bit streamlined and LA fixed, but you will enjoy doing the work. Tough competetion as well as compliments. Learning scope is given by company through worskhop and training for short time which basically needed for the work role. Salary and hike is quite a good above standard. Transport facilities is well arranged and cab are quite good and clean. Rest office politics as everywhere is here, but ot depends if you dont indulge in it.

Dislikes

Career growth is a bit slow as per my role in IT-SECURITY, eother have move to different role or relocate for other branches.

Work

Interesting competitive work, but a streamline and SLA related work with high audit issues.

Not much work load. You can get promoted, all you have to do is stay in the company.

Dislikes

People very less in technical skills (can't justify their own experience). Unnecessary process and tasks running in the company. Not at all developer friendly (You need a three level approval just in case you want to install (or try a new software library in the market) in your local system. Too much politics (unhealthy politics). Very old age legacy technologies getting used. 70-80 % projects using deprecated stuff. Trust me you can do any menace and just get away by saying that used agile and devops... :D :p

Work

Developer. Understanding the business requirements and programming it. Working in a team of 8-10 developers.

HSBC has its own brand name in the market, which provides a growth once you leave the company and move in other sections of market. Has a good leave policy. Trainings are conducted for skill development, but you rarely get a chance to enroll and use them. Higher management decides their successors and they don't look for the talent always. Honouring your gratitude is best in the company.

Dislikes

I don't like the growth system in the company as it is not based on your performance. I don't like the financial growth also as it keeps u in a stagnant position for a very long period, which reduces your chances of hike if any lateral movement. Management has a biased way of looking at individuals.

Work

Same boring work everyday though they try to indulge in fun activities with old retro style.

Had an very nice experience working with hsbc, HSBC has a very good work culture and treat employees like a family specially people from top management to security people. I would like to surely join back to hsbc again in next few years.

Dislikes

Teammates were too good for me, every one had a little bit consents about mangers attitude which people tell it’s common but which should not be. The main reason I quit hsbc was very less salary hike and very slow carrer growth if this things where good I would have retired from hsbc itself.

Work

As a fresher I learnt lot many things from hsbc, it was exciting and more hetic as well.

HSBC bank is currently under process of change and transformation, really get lot of opportunities to take part of change and contribute your ideas like in setting up ring faced Bank and other change programs that currently running... The growth is depends on your commitment to words your carrer progression plan and vital roles to pay based on your skill set.... Overall its good place to work with...

Dislikes

The only thing that come up my mind is bit work pressure in these days and targets to meet cost savings...

Work

I am currently managing 9 sites on day to day reconciliations process, yet times feel little hectic in managing number of staffs and different clients..

Salary is ok up to industry standards , Ambience is great on the floor and the cafeteria ,the learning & development department is great, sharing of work is there among teammates and we have medical insurance. I feel I am secured . At times there is something new to learn .

Dislikes

Politics are here and in other offices as well - and I get the first pickup & last drop at times because of the roster schedule . I have seen at times certain individuals do not get recognized about the innovation in their work either due to nepotism or policy .

Work

It is as times as hectic as well as routine. After picking up making I became a checker . We have team outings and community service like HSBC most wanted ,etc .
