It has a lot many talented people at the mid management level across BU and regions. Hindustan Times is still the backbone but has gone through a jittery time in the last 24 months. In terms of salary and timeliness there is nothing to complain however a huge gap in payscales at the lower level. Also increments have been very sparce.
Leadership is a weak point with no visionaries. It's mostly the 'yes sirs' who have taken up the leadership chairs. Secondly no one puts their hand up to take a call...it's like a public sector office where only meetings take place but no outcomes. HR policies are in plenty but HR personnel have no clue about it. Some HR heads are like cctv recoders whos only role is policing. Being a part of the marketing team, I surely can say the chief marketer is absolutely a good for nothing chump and is only surviving coz of his only ability of ass licking.
It's aptly said gauge your boss before you join. I was happy to work with some brightest mind. However within no time demonitisation struck and due to no long term vision there was chaos and firings. The leadership team never took responsibility. It's HT.
