The company name is quite reputed, makes you feel proud.
Working in IBM, for client BPCL, at client's location, Kharghar (Sector 2). Earlier BPCL's contract was with another MNC, and after their contract ended, IBM was appointed. Around 120 people were hired during this transition. We had to learn a lot by the former staff within too less time. Personally, I got only 3 days time with the former MNC's employee. We had very few resources to train from. A lot of workload was pending since we took time to learn, which is of course natural. We were made to sit by doing overtime. However, overtime was not paid to us for around 4-5 months. We literally worked for free for an extra 2.5 hours. After completing one year, we didn't get any appraisal. After the second year everybody had high hopes. However, most of us got appraisal of 2% even after overworking except for few bootlickers who got 30%. Lot of favouritism took place while promotion. All of our team confronted pur manager, to which he literally replied, that the job market is open, you can look elsewhere for a job. Lot of problems for taking leaves. One time my manager literally asked on mail to come to office by half day even when I was sick. I didn't though. Told me on mail, that "IBM doctors" would check you. Till this day, I am waiting to be checked by them ๐. They keep talking about - policy doesn't allow this, policy doesn't allow that. But they never show us the policy. It's like "jo maan mein aya wo thok diya/ hava mein kuch bhi tir marte hai, policy ke naam pe". We have very monotonous work There is only 1 person who got her department changed that too because the employee had to resign due to sudden medical issue. We have been requesting our manager to change our departments so that our knowledge and exposure increases, but he has paid no heed to us. So, the conclusion is, "naam bade, darshan khote" If you can try for a job elsewhere, please do so. We all came under the impression that IBM is huge, but got monetary benefits lesser than any small local firm.
