Hi guys, I’m currently serving my 90-day notice period; my last working day is June 15. I’ve received an offer from a new company that pays X (all in-hand). It’s a full 5-day work from office, with fixed hours (9:30–6:30). My current company has countered with X–1 in-hand plus a 1 lakh retention bonus, but it comes with an 18-month lock-in (or I have to pay it back). I already received the bonus, and the 18 months will complete in December. My current job offers WFH and flexible timings, which I really like. Now I’m stuck. • If I stay, I save 1 lakh and can resign in December. The market usually picks up in January, so timing may work. • If I join the new company, I’ll lose the 1 lakh and need to stay for at least a year to make the move worthwhile. I can’t decide what to do.
