Overall work culture is great and employees are valued a lot. It doesn't bug you much with stupid issues and gives you enough space and peace of your mind. Nothing to complain about. Its gym facility in new bangalore srr3 building is great. Sometimes i feel that is why i extended my stay at Intel otherwise i was heavily irritated with the type of profile I was in.

Dislikes

Its vision is very streamlined and too much focused on hardware only. Although it tries to project that it values software too but it is only in words not much when it comes to "putting the money where the mouth is." If you are looking for growth in Data science / machine learning domain then it is not the company for you as it only knows/cares about how to sell its hardware and everything else is secondary.
It has no vision in machine learning and you are not going to see products like Alexa or Google Assistant coming out of intel any soon.
So run as far as you can from Intel if you are interested in data domain. In this domain it is focused more on providing the hardware to execute the algorithm efficiently, not much effort on the actual ML/AI which is a game changer of next century. In my honest opinion it is going to miss this bus of ML just like intel missed out on mobiles.

Its stance on machine learning is like the following :
"Imagine a company that makes fuel for rockets and then claims to be working on rocket technologies, that is how Intel is to machine learning"

You can look at its acquisition, when google has acquired firms like deep mind and deep brain, intel acquires nervana which makes hardware for AI. Its acting like a wannabe and its average knowledge on AI/ML is pretty low compared to google/amazon/msft or even flipkart i suppose (more that 90% sure about this).

Its biggest problem is business model that restricts it from innovating freely in domains other than processors because it runs into competition with its own customers like google/amazon/hp etc who use its processors in their products.

So its pretty much a dead end when it comes to pure machine learning work, so if you are not excessively excited about hardware and going through undocumented code irritates you to the core you will leave intel soon.

Over all its work culture is great and has flexible timings, you can come and leave at any time as long you get the work done.

Work

Boring and completely unexciting.(It is just my personal opinion, nothing in genera about Intel as a company)

The Sr Manager and Global Director of Infrastructure Security Engineering are demanding but accessible with the treatment of their engineers understanding their personal aspect of their lives to support engineers as they go for their good performance.

Working with the Israelite Manager and Engineers is most enriching because of understanding their culture and expectations. They are extremely demanding, direct but very kind and collaborative with all Intel employees globally. In my professional experience, working with Israelites has been the best thing that has happened to me in my career.

The challenges granted by both the Sr Manager and Global Director of Infrastructure Security Engineering are demanding and motivating. They also provide an opportunity to propose no new challenges, approve them and grant the necessary resources to meet the objectives.

IMBO - Intel Management by Objectives.

Dislikes

There is a lot of openness in Intel globally for its engineers.

Unfortunately, there are countries that because of their culture, some of the employees, not all, take advantage of that openness to achieve abuse of it. They arrive late, they leave early, they dress inappropriately.

Top Management has taken effective measures to evaluate their performance as Needs Improvement (NI), to the point of getting them dismissed.

Sometimes, it is not easy to work with those badly called professionals.

Work

Impressive technical learning, business, and soft skills. Enriching International experience with the United States, Israel, Malaysia and Costa Rica. I felt highly valued both economically and professionally. It is a highly recommended Corporation to work

Far ahead of the Market in the technologies they work on. Work on innovative products and decent enough salary for a Bangalore location

Dislikes

Too much of office politics. Teams work in silos with an internal agenda. Many a times, focus is on saving jobs rather than actual work. A few leaders will not allow critical resources to move to other career options; moving out of the organization remains the only option. Training is far and few, but work-life balance can be good if you are clever enough to understand the organization dynamics

Work

Every day was a new challenge. However, after a while; work becomes very monotonous and unyielding

The infrastructure and compensation are good areas of satisfaction and Intel is known for great campus and facilities.

Dislikes

The organisation lacks good leadership and working environment. There is a lack of cultural sensitivity and appreciation of work life balance. While the benefits are great, the attitude of leadership is non inclusive. The company doesn't believe in nurturing it's talent but focuses more on simply compensation for recognition which is a very regressive approach.

The company gives full flexibility to its employees for working hours, for travelling to work and work from home benefits. In addition there are fruits, juices and soft-drinks available in the cafeteria as perks.

Dislikes

Lot of politics and bureaucracy. Lot of time wasted in meetings. Being a product company way behind in technology for itself even though it innovates for the world.

Compensation and benefits are good in India offices. Work life balance depends on projects which is almost absent in IT.

Dislikes

You will just have n number of reorgs and will be asked to believe in them. Work is not present. Managers try to create work but its just like maintaining a already build house which can be done by a maid.
