Work environment is great and encouragement to learn new skills and participating in fun activities is always reflected. Sooner or later, we all get the turn to learn what we want to, all we need is patience.

Dislikes

Knowledge sharing is treated as a personal strength and used only for an individual growth, may be following this strategy has some advantages however I differ because I feel knowledge is meant to be shared irrespective who and how someone benefits for their growth. However, we tend to use it for own development first& then move further. Everyone has a unique quality and different abilities, from smart to slow, we have different individuals. We all identify such members easily & instead of focusing on creating more smart ppl, we focus on one by one. At times, as employees also we lack interest to learn and the above approach has worked but knowledge that was supposed to be gained a year back is gained after two years, still solves the purpose but the true meaning of knowledge sharing gets lost in between. I feel it has nothing to do with an organisation, it's an individual choice and as individuals only we make an organisation however what we drive, becomes a culture.

Work

I believe that we should love what we do so my job was never boring and most importantly it kept me busy, we as individuals make it hectic. In all fairness, I feel growth brings along more responsibility so there will be times when it will be hectic.

Good salary.

Biased behaviour, people working secretly for Congress party in India, anti PM Modi stance, Thought prevails that U.K. and US are supreme nations which still govern India, preferential treatment to sons and daughters of IAS and Police officers ( who can also get away from murders and employees help to clean evidence), No integrity and humanity is respected, the more animal you are, the more clever you are in fooling and looting others, the more you are respected. If you will show that you love indian culture, you are doomed. The intelligence team head occaisionally sits with Owaisi of Hyderabad for dinner and expects his team to eat cow meat in good will and in the name of secularism.
The word of mouth prevails about the quality of work rather than actual work done which all managers will say is the bitter truth of KPMG culture in advisory ( very shamelessly).
I also have heard from other employees that the report were fudged at times to show more effective work done, when they r sent

Work

I was in field intelligence and forensic investigation s. It's was full of daring work, dangerous situations, covert operations amid treacherous behaviour of some team members.

Nothing except the brand. It has good health insurance which is quite obvious since they will suck the last blood from your body. After every project you will get hospitalized or will need some bed rest.

Dislikes

Everything except the brand value. Worst work life balance. No work satisfaction. You will feel like a slave in the company and your managers will be your masters who only believe in kicking the employees and get job done. Keep travelling domestic, live in 3rd class hotels or lodges with 2-3 members sharing the room, eat 3rd class food, you can easily get diarhea or food poisoning. No per diems, no extra allowance. Just work, work and work. All your benefits go into project profitability and end of the year get some peanuts as bonus and salary hike. Whatever you earn keep paying for the petrol.

Work

Work in some 3rd class project which has been rejected by other companies with 3rd class clients who count the number of tea cups you drank. Travel, stay in 3rd class hotels, eat 3rd class food. No transport facility, no travel allowance.

Firstly I liked the Tax process then... Transport facilities, food facility if we are working on weekend request, dry pantry facility, team outings, season end parties, Annual tax offsite , sports events, occasional compilations, Annual performance bonus, seniors and team leaders support & attitude and last but not least long leaves in off-season and Christmas blocked leave policy.

Dislikes

Main thing I dislike about working at KPMG is working hours ... almost whole year there will be a season effect and only few month it will b like off-season where we can take long leaves, So in season (i,e. more than 8 months in a year) we have to work 11 to 13.5 hours which is still not satisfied by our managers. Too much of inside politics and favoritism for appraisals and promotions , as most of the months we have a season effect we do not get leave even for a main festivals (like Ugadhi), most of the times we work on both weekend and hence we will not get even 1 day break in a month which will be more stressful.

Very professional environment. You get deserving appreciation verbally or via awards. Compensation and hikes are really good. One can't complain on those fronts.

Dislikes

Domestic client has its merits and demerits. Domestic clients usually try to avoid meetings during requirements gathering phase. They do not cooperate much during the implementation phase. Post go live they come up with issues and excuses to avoid payment. And that pressure completely comes on the team. The director and associate director generally take sides of client to pacify them since they also need money but this system is completely flawed. Due to this sales oriented attitude, if anyone even wants to give a good solution, won't be able to. For technical people KPMG is not good as senior consultant. You don't get much scope to grow since you are expected to bring leads instead of deciding whether to use REST or SOAP.

M talking here about Internal auditor.
1. Growth is good if client appreciate ur work.
2. Lot of traveling. But not a single penny u hv to spend when u r working on client. (Clients office should be outside ur city.)
3. No work life balance at all. 12 hrs is normal here. This is due to quantum of work is too much and resources are less.
4. If u want growth, u have to ask for it.

Dislikes

1. No work life balance at all.
2. Nothing is reimbursed if u r on training.
3. Lot of movement.
4. Politics
5. If u r engineer, dont join this org in IA dept.
6. No annual health check up.
7. U cant afford kpmg leaves. U hv to come Office if clients site is open.
8. Block leave is just a myth. No leaves on sat.

Work

Hectic, boring.

Being the youngest audit firm in India among the Big 4, KPMG constantly keeps on innovating and improvising with its audit techniques in order to comply with change in dynamics in the field of accounting and finance and thereby providing high quality deliverable in the shortest possible time. I love the fact that I am a part of a team which has a high market reliability and a client base of extremely high calibre both within and outside India.
Working as a trainee in KPMG, I got the exposure to work in different sectors of the economy thereby understanding how the business is being carried on in these sectors. Besides work, i got the oppurtunity to interact with people coming from various cultural background and we worked happily together. I also like the employee retention policy of the company and the salary/appraisal given is second to none.

Dislikes

Work life balance sometimes get disturbed due to heavy work pressure.

Training material was good and nothing else. I have never seen such a poor standards and below industry avg salary. KPMG is considered tier 2 consulting firm and pls do a background check of the team you are joining and make sure the work is not that shitty.

Dislikes

Very poor work environment. They throw you to the client location and make you relocate there with poor amenities and facilities altogether. Policy is all vague. Clients are of worst standards...work is shitty...people from tier 1 MBA colleges undergo complete degradation with poor standards of work. Work entails translation, making small briefs and reports all the while with zero value addition. Worst managers and partners to work with, have no standards and values, no visibility of what is happening at the workstation / client location. I had worst experience of my professional life, working at KPMG.

KPMG in general is a good company but it depends which entity you are working for. I was working for KPMG GDC(global delivery center) where the employees where treated like slaves. They use to makes us work for 15 hours daily during there busy season. If you wish to join KPMG I would recommend you to join KPMG India or the KPMG KRC(KPMG Resource Center) where the work culture is far better that KPMG GDC.

Dislikes

The management is the thing which I hate the most in KPMG GDC. Even the management knows that the employees are being ill treated and the employees desperately want switch to new jobs. they are OK with the attrition rate because the believe that hiring new folks is much more better than giving hike and bonus to existing employees. This is the sad policy the management follows in GDC.

KPMG Global Services company has diverse culture and young professionals. Everybody respects each other. Great opportunity to learn different aspects of advisory transactions happening in global environment. Work-life balance and work from home policy is an added advantage to employees and help them maintain their personal commitments alongside client deliverables.
Overall, good place to work!

Dislikes

KPMG Global Services work on routine 9 to 6 timings. During the peak hours, beating everyday's traffic is a challenge and sometimes become little painful. On the other side, these timings are pretty good for working women.

Work

My advisory job is interesting and gives me challenges in every different transaction I work. All-inclusive work quality is better than other Big 4 shared services.
