Hi, I would say BPO back office job is against skill development bcoz here people mostly do copy paste work. There will some set of processes like A then B n C n D like which he need to follow. But he can't develop his skill from back office. I would Say back office will kill skill development of Indian in long Run. People needs to work in shifts according to specific country requirement so there is no work life balance. Back Office workers are like Servant who have target of work like 10 bill processing, 20 bill Processing, no Indian public holiday, no fix timing, very low increment, no skill development. In future it will bad for the country as well....this is one type of back office where clearical jobs of their front offices are brought to India and split in process n then targets are set. In this process Front office employees losses their job. Also company saves money from closing overseas office n many more
As per my 3 years of experience with this company, I will not recommend this company to anyone. May be good for freshers only, that also for couple of years only. No knowledge based growth, zero Extra curricular activities. They get the work done by staff just like Donkey. No Automation focus, prefer manual intervention more. Third class IT infrastructure. No effective management and HR system. Company appreciate only the people who do wait back or Overtime here. No scope for Smart Work lovers.
No proper training, Third class appraisal percentage rates. Do not want to talk about this company any more
The company has a good brand value and also lives upto it. I am glad to be associated with a top shipping line. Maersk associates itself with cultures and it is strictly followed in the company that includes integrity and honesty and other modest values.
The growth is terms of role and salary is slow. The rate at which appraisals are carried out is low also considering the market profits the company makes. There are colleagues that are involved in politics like most companies i suppose. However there is transparency to walk to the top management to always clear out such difficulties. Leaving aside bad colleagues and salary structure, this may be a really good place to work in.
The GSC is currently undergoing re-structuring, leading to re-shoring of most job functions for strategic alignment to organisational goals. Job and career growth opportunities are limited-most leaders are pre-occupied with preserving their own teams, leading to cut-throat environment and very poor growth. I had joined 2 years ago in a fast track leadership role and am sorry to say have received a 6% salary raise over 2 years. Not a good outlook. preference is given to expats over Indians.
No variable pay concept , lots of transition opportunity and friendly colleagues
Politics plays vital role and they cover it as policy live example : Non recuruiting back ex male colleagues even he has good track of records in past ,but exception for pretty females . Transport is one of the worst thing in Maersk you may be in doubt is it corporate cab or a govt bus !
Work wise it's a good learning nice stake holders helpful people you can again a lump of process knowledge
Overall Maersk line is very good and reputed company. Working style is very good , we have strong job security. Lovely job environment.
Some process their is no work life balance however trying to give the leaves on time. According to business requirements some processes are working 24/7 hence no fix day week off. However now those all process are migrated to head office. Rest all depts have fix week off and good work life balance.
Associates in MAERSK are very friendly, co-operative and understanding. Its a wheel on the shoes environment where you are expected to be on your toes always. People around will be always busy with their stipulated work and wants to help customers. Very much customer centric approach is followed throughout their work culture and environment.
MAERSK operates 24/7 and hence expects you during your shift time. If you happen to fall under the night shift category, then it must be difficult for you if you have dependents around you.
Over all its average place to work, everything is depends upon your manager only. For woman's it's good place to work.
You can not expect more hike. And they will not increase your basic pay. Their HR., policy is some extent worst in India comparatively other countries. Shift timing is 8hrs. As per HR. Policy they need to pay for your OT. But managers will refuse it, and the replay us its our team policy........
Maersk is a huge organization. It's working way and envoirment depends alot on which Department you are working for.
So all in all my review is not for Maersk but rather for Damco in BOMGSC. Please refer to the samr in case you are joining Damco department.
Slow growth, Over complex Management style, outdated and ineffective system, bad support system like IT and HR.
Again Depends alot upon the department you get selected for. My review is for Damco.
