Totally out of standard . The worst part is management . Very corrupt emplyees. This is a healthcare department , where managers are non medical persons. Actually, a clinical doctor having managerial qualification should be d Program Manager / Officer. Total protocol/ strategy is made by either by some stupid or by some corrupt officials of govt. There is no need of post like DPM & BPM. There should b DPO & BPO, and role of them, should b independent of Jt.DHS (at district level) & SDM&HO (at block level). If there can b a separate Directorate , at state level, with separate & independent director(s), then what is meaning of keeping aligned with Govt. Heath dept at district & block level? I m not against any person at d rank of DPM or BPM , personally. But , govt's policy is is wrong. U can take an example of another dept. E.g say in railway... An engineer with MBA can become a Manager in that unit... (of course there r some provision of generalist MBA also in general administration dept.), but in a sector like heathcare, which is a most delicate one, a manager is recruited , having no Medical background. And worst fact is those managers think & behave themselves to be superior to doctors & other paramedical staff. And in practical, only a few amount of finance is utilized in a proper way to deliver quality healthcare services to public. During 5 yrs tenure of sevice ( i resigned already) i strongly feel one thing that , this is a platform , suitable for non-medical managers & corrupt govt Medical & health officers, at d rank of Jt.DHS & SDM&HOs , to swipe public fund. And i dont think that, strategy makers are not aware of this. They may also have some benefits from it. Becoz, whatever i can analyse,....is it possible that , our so called policy makers who r highly (?) qualified , would not b able to catch it?.... The current policy of NHM is not only wasting public economic resources, but also, disrespecting d qualitative hiararchy of human resources of a system.

NOTHING SPECIAL TO WORK WITH NATIONAL HEALTH MISSION, ASSAM AS A COMPUTER ASSISTANT(UIP). ONLY SATISFACTION IS THAT, TEAMMATES ARE WELL QUALIFIED AND FROM VARIOUS BACKGROUND AND WORKING SMOOTHLY WITH A COMBINE EFFORT. THERE IS NO JOB SECURITY, NO CAREER GROWTH, NO PROPER PLANNING FOR HUMAN RESOURCES AND FOR THEIR LIVELIHOOD TO MAINTAIN.

THERE IS NO COMPENSATION, ANNUAL GROWTH IS NOT SECURE, PRESSURE IS HIGH SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WORK 14 HOURS IN A DAY. I DO RECEIVE APPRECIATION , EMAILS, MESSAGES FROM DIFFERENT CORNER RELATED WITH MY WORK BEING AN NHM FAMILY THROUGH Whats App, PHONE CALLS ETC EVEN FROM MY IMMEDIATE SUPERIORS BUT THEY (STATE LEVEL OFFICER'S) MOSTLY GO UNNOTICED DURING MY APPRAISALS, WHICH IS REALLY PAINFUL. i HAVE ALMOST COMPLETED 11 YEARS & 4 MONTHS BUT TILL DATE THERE IS NO EPF PROVIDED TO US MOREOVER THERE IS NO SECURITY WHICH I HAVE MENTIONED EARLIER. JUST IMAGINE HOW PAINFUL THE SITUATION IS.

The National Health Mission is one of a flagship programme of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India and running all States and Districts in India. Here i get the scope to develop my leadership quality during the implementation of programmes & freedom of present the new relevant idea directly to the higher authority, involve policy making decision, play role in preparing district PIP (yearly budget). Also involve MIS activities, Monitoring, Training activities and most importantly in this organization i get the opportunity to work with the village level health workers like ASHA, Angawadi Workers, PRI Members. Overall i can say in this organization i develop my skill in multiple field .

Dislikes

I am enjoying the job from last 10+ years but now, specially from last two years there is salary growth (annual increment). HR policies were developed but not implement till now. Overlapping of work is another point of my dislike.

Work

Job is challenging but enjoyable. Job satisfaction is there. I involve all administrative task of the mission. Reporting of Programme Performance, Monitoring, Analysis of Reports and present before Deputy Commissioner during District Review Meeting.

I with my team as per microplan go to different interior villages and really help them provide medicine and management. Even if have done major dressing there which cases cannot attend medical ever. Also take some cases to nearby hospital. And aware the school children about health hazards. Gain great satisfaction because the patients mostly tell u r fine and there at district hospital starting from attendant,Doctor ,staff nurse everyone are waiting to take money from us

Number of times I have engaged in epidemic control which is most important to control the death rate and we usually do vigorous work there even if have to night halt inside ambulance but unfortunately govt official denied to pay for that period .Also there is no increments for us where as other management employees are getting the facility

Continuouslty I havebeen working from IPP-IX(Assam Area Project) since 1995 then Reproductive Child health Programme then NRHM and continuation till NHM,Assam last more than 23 years.all district of Assam under my supervision high level projects like Multistories bulding 200 bedded hospital at Dhemaji,2 stories bulding at Nowboicha CHC in lakhimpur and many more,Assam types bulding etc. From this engajedment I maintain my family and myself.Nowadays permanent service not available of scope. Henceforth it gives me relaxe the burden. These are cause to like the NHM.

Dislikes

Service life is one of the contractual one, instead of permanent job security. Due to temporary one, familty always desperate for this service.

You can actually help poor and needy people who are in problem due to health issues, it's immensely satisfying to see the smile on faces of people when they are cured of their illnesses.

Dislikes

Some staff members actually don't work and just want payment for doing nothing, if you tell them to work they will start argument with you. Such people don't work themselves and don't let others work hampering overall project. Mostly they have godfathers and are never held responsible by management. Job security is actually very poor as no one can say if program will be there or not after one year, every year it is renewed at last moment.

This is a vast programme on govt. health sector, there are more multiwork experience gain on work in this programme.

Dislikes

There is not a life secured job programme, all time we work as a contractual employees. There
are not any other facilities are provide us such as Medical benifit, insurance, any savings, quarter for staying etc...

Experiences is wonderful.the best part is that State health society organises training sessions for medical officer to upgrade medical knowledge and pay incentives also for attending these trainings

Dislikes

Pay diapariy and job insecurity at par with other medical officers which are commissioned
