OUP is a UK originated and dept of University of Oxford, always proud feel of working for University of Oxford, as a press (publication) with school division leader and 40% market share, well established by its team in the last 12 years, system driven and system cetric approach, however health, saftey and travel policies are very employee friendly, salaries though in the past a trending of high pay, now it has tuned to fill with the new blood, creativity of the fresh energy from campus, women employees are highly safe and built in system for their overall happy and healthy work environment, Self-Ambitious person who can drive him / herself would be able to make a long term career path,
However, there would be cases of frictions and deviations on exceptional cases..

Dislikes

Competitive compensation and career growth model is missing, I have been noticing the chances of recognisation is filtered at various intermediate managerial levels, good human resources leave the organization as unfairly treated wrg annual appraisal.
However, there is plan designed to overcome this year, must see the good results in the future

Work

My job profile as a Business Head for South & West for Digital Dept (I was with print, school education for 10 years as a sales manager), I am responsible to establish the OUP's digital products in the assigned region in coordination with the 150+ team.

As the Press is a department of Oxford University,U.K. it is matter of great pride , prestige, exposure and opportunity to be a part of it . The press's mission is to impart selfless service to the pursuit of education , research and scholarship and as such, working here enables one for the acquisition of higher level of skill , knowledge and a sense of responsibility. Its world existence provides opportunities to be a truly global professional. Its work culture buttressed with the best christened code of conduct and compliance rules confirm the high benchmark of efficiency, skills and character of its employees.

Dislikes

Being a global organisation , many a times , crucial decisions are taken abroad , may be in U.K. with a somewhat a disconnect with the local reality . Indian education system has its own needs which , in some ways , require indigenous methods . Many times rules framed according to foreign standard are imposed on Indian system

Work

I had been the head of sales or marketing or business development in different tenures in the span of 15 years in Oxford University Press. The Press gave me opportunity to work at regional, Pan-India as well as global level. I could handle variety of work

Excellent work environment, highly competent and competitive people both up and down the ladder. People are treated with trust and respect both inside and outside the organization. Time to time training and developmental programs get executed in order to upgrade the respective and relative bar. Job is highly secured. Career growth is well taken care of by the management with an intricately designed growth plan for every individual. Salary/appraisal are the best in the Industry here depending upon relative performance. Travel policy is top class. Company advocates for safe and sound travel for the employees. Politics has yet to find a place here. Innovatives and innovations are valued. Work life is full of energy and people are treated with respect in the market with a bonus of social respect in and around them thus fetching a good balance of quality of work and social life.

Dislikes

There is hardly anything to be disliked working in this organization.

Work

It was really challenging and exciting to work with this organization keeping me on my toes all the time with a distant vision and constructive approach.
