Great bonding among MT group, even senior MTs support a lot, Lots of training opportunities and skill development programs, job security, opportunity to work in different verticals, if you do no care about promotions you can call “spade a spade” in front of your boss

Dislikes

Full of sycophants especially at senior level (degrading moral values among senior level, they have tarnished the image of first bank started by Indian revolunaries), very poor salary & perks Relative to job expectations, unresponsive HR, poor work life balance (circle heads call even very late at night and force you to respond to Whatsapp message after office hours), arbitrary approach in promotion after scale 3 without consideration to performance, most of the promoted employees are from head office who have never done actual banking, arbitrary approach in posting and foreign posting, union gundaism culture is there, those who are close to senior management and union leaders get preferred treatment, pathetic medical insurance cover, terrible cafeteria at HO for employees below scale 3. End result is poor quality of MTs and specialist officer are taking up job with PNB. Also there is Feeling of hatred by clerks and promotee officers towards direct recruits

Work

I was fortunate enough to get lots of opportunities in PNB and got to know some very good people over there. I owe my career to PNB. Negative things I wrote above is generic in nature and are also based on exp of my colleagues

I learnt a lot while working for PNB whole hardheartedly for more than 36 years in different capacities at different locations (branches as well as HO Divisions)

Dislikes

I retired from PNB on 31.08.2016 at the age of superannuation (60 years) as Chief Manager. Since then I am trying a Job which well suits my rich banking experience of more than 36 years and academic carrier (commerce). I got a good job in Ministry of Rural Development but I could not avail that opportunity as the posting was Jodhpur (Rajasthan) which does not suit me in view of my age.

Work

After retirement on 31.08.2016 I am not completely free. I am doing shares business & involved in sale of stressed assets of various Banks. A permanent job which can make use of my Rich Banking Experience of 36 years with strong Commerce background.

Working in PNB gives job satisfaction plus job security. When I joined the entire work was done manually. In some sections it required specialisation. Till the computerisation value of good workers In every branches had great demand.I was loved & appreciated wherever I worked. After computerisation I am proudly say that my work again appreciated. Chance's of promotion now very frequently compared to our times.

Dislikes

Regrets now is that despite of work load&more expectation from public now the bankers are less respected by society as they are not only under paid & have no time for their families, friends etc.

Work

Now Hectic

PNB the name you can bank upon is loaded with latest technology and diversified services along with latest banking products. To work with this organisation established by a group of freedom fighters is always a matter of pride. Periodical training and circulars keep the work force updated in skill development and job knowledge enhancement which contribute in best customer satisfaction. Promotional opportunities are also very fast in PNB.

Dislikes

Nothing except weak control over the working and poor compliance due to inexperienced and incompetent people sitting on the top echalon of the management in PNB

Work

Hectic and exiting.

It is a PSU bank. The salary structure is as per wage settlement ever five year on industry level. Appraisal system is alright. Work environment is so so. training and learning is good.

Dislikes

Compensation is satisfactory. There is work pressure while working in branches. There are targets to achieve. Though timing is not on the higher side but sometimes to sit late for two/three hours but manageable.

Work

Yes working in a branch is challenging. To be very specific one should ensure no customer complaints. One has to be very careful while dealing with customers.

This is not about punjab national bank. At present all Indian specially nationalise banks are in bad shape because of political interference, fast promotions, lack of initiative among young technically qualified to learn the practical banking which comes after years of practical experience.

Dislikes

Lack of decision taking at all level

Work

Till 2014 we enjoyed a lot while working in pnb. But now things changed. In spite of working whole day beyond working hours, in evening, every employee while going home feel negative energy.
