The work is monotonous from senior associate to manager all does review along with few additional work. The planning and structure of team work allocations all are done by one person so if you can butter that person you will definitely progress !! You have to be a package as a whole like you have to be a singer, dancer and a performer to become Employee of the year !! Only silently working and coaching juniors will not help !! If you go picnic and weekend tours with your manager and managers favourite TL then you will get good apprisal and you have to be their family photographer as well !! Team of 90 has 40/45 associates and 6/8 senior associates and rest are managers and assistant managers!! Managers loves favouritism and has plenty of pet resources !! One who act as God in the team old Manager knows how to manipulate and how to threaten you !! Communication of Managers and Assistant managers are awful, hardly 2/3 among the bunch of 25 can talk in English fluently !!

Dislikes

No work life balance coz you have to give 13 hrs chargibility for 5 months and have to work on saturdays. People stammers while speaking and are big schemers. All are envious and back stabbers !! Except 2/3 managers and few assistant managers the full team of 90+ team is working of very basic tax knowledge, everyone likes to work mechnically and dont know the uk tax policies and reasons of the treatment they are doing ! The Uk tax team is also a big gossip factory, people like to talk who is having an affair with whom, is there any extra marital affair is going on !! If you live all these then UK tax team is very enjoyable for you !! Welcome to UK tax team !! But I must say the current tax leader is a different person and is a visionary !! He can change it if he want to !!

The company has a good brand name and gives you opportunity to learn many activities by cross teaming. People get rewards and recognitions also for their work. The company provides many facilities like pick up and drop facilities, Sodexo meal passes. Lots of cultural programme etc.

Dislikes

There is no work life balance .I had to work 15 to 18 hours in working days and sometimes even in weekends. Some employees are very diplomatic and play dirty politics . So their mistakes get unnoticed and even they try to make other people do their work easily and get appraisal and promotions even after that. People against which team have any personal issue, never get growth even they try to give their best. Most of the senior team members even after working for so many years do not have in-depth knowledge about the work and give varied opinion when any problem solving situation occurs. I have worked here for 4 years but finding it difficult to get another job (I have already left the job ) since this work experience is not getting counted anywhere.

Work

The work is interesting over there ,but the experience you gather over there will not help you to find another job in core finance sector since for the job. Is not related to finance at all although they take MBA finance and CAs.

Will be working on latest technology.Get to see a lot of team with very different exposures like MBA,CA,BE/Btech. The work won't be monotonous. There is more than enough work pressure as there will be different clients, managers as well the hours required to be charged. There are lot of opportunities to learn and unlearn.

Dislikes

There is lot office politics with teams working together to achieve their goals. There are less opportunities to go abroad.
But if you can greatly impress managers and keep yourself their favourite, chances are that you can survive the cut throat competition.
It requires a lot of planning to remain unaffected as there are lot of day to day events happening. It's not only learning to work, but survival of the fittest in a competitive environment. It takes enough years to understand the big four culture.Either you vibe well or not,it is just a matter of time for that understanding. If you like it ,there are lot of opportunities inside to satisfy you.Compensation is decent and culture also likable.Except that your career growth depends on a large extent to your relations with managers and how you carry yourself .

A big 4 environment with all its share of foreign company clientele and exposure to best global practices (atleast in theory).. good pay scales, work life balance

Top Heavy Organisation.. Partners who are in grown PWC products have over time grouped themselves politically licking the senior partners and so on and so forth.. in some small teams, one can even find the youngest team member, i.e., analysts licking to their seniors as that is the only protocol required other than being in the right groups.. if these jokers (the inhouse breed) are asked to practice without their brand, no one would stand them for more than 5 minutes. Low on business accumen - surviving purely on past goodwill, joining of Non-pwc bred partners and some ex- government officials and most inportantly Referral work from PwC network firms.

Work

Work is exciting to a certain level - its beautiful when you’ re beginning a new job as work is very diverse. however, with time, one would realise that teams are hesistant to go out in market and fetch new work as the top management is extremely insecu

It is difficult to say, how good this Company is in terms of the culture. It really comes down to your own Team and Bosses. I've been fortunate enough to get a very good Senior Leadership team, that is nurturing and understanding.

Dislikes

1) Team Mates - Extremely competitive, dissatisfied and very very toxic. Groupisms are strong and while PwC hires from the best of campus, they COMPLETELY rule out the aspect of emotional maturity / EQ while hiring candidates. They hire those with good IQ, but EQ is zero. This makes it a very toxic place to work in, with workplace bullies and groupisms going on. As they say, one dirty fish can make the entire pond dirty - if there are many, one can imagine how it gets. 2) Growth Opportunities and Compensation - The growth opportunities are very poor. No clear growth trajectory is shared. Compensation as well, is on the lower side.

M&A tax had peak working hours during some months of the year like jan to march and dec quarter. So the work life balance was good as you could leave on time if there is no work or you can finish it off in time.

Dislikes

The people are worst ever. They are all selfish and do not care aboit the employee's work satisfaction or growth. The HR is there only at the time of joining the company and then nobody is there to help you. Instead the exit formalities are so cumbersome and they would leave no stone unturned to forcefully keep you in the firm even if you are not happy there! Exit HR interviewer especially is extremely rude to you and keeps implying in every discussion that you are not going to succeed if you leave PwC! The department has only sycophants filled in it who can survive only if they suck up to the partners and directors. I actually went into depression for a brief period of time after joining this department.

The office infrastructure was good.

Dislikes

Coming down to office time is fix, but going back home is not fix. Extra hours of work most of the days by stretching long hours after office time. Training facilities are not proper in some verticals. Behavioral issues in terms of people and fellow employees. The work profile are not so advance in terms of learning and development of skills and knowledge for future growth. The most important part is THE EXIT POLICY here is the slowest and a billion dollar company has all the process follows is completely manual. In which, it results to take long time for the full and final settlement over 2 months after the last working day. The salary comes to hold since the day you resigned and the notice is for 2 months. So in total it takes 4 months to settle down an employees FnF.

At Pwc, you will find yourself in another big world with lot of scope for unique development, trainings assessments etc. As a part of career growth, it's one of the best firm you can find which gives you an overall best exposure to work for.
I have been placed in Advisory line of service and had been rooted to client's location, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Here, the work culture, project updates and management is good. Lot of new learning scopes comes into your way.

Dislikes

I don't think, there is any point of dislike when you are a part of Pwc.

Work

The work culture out here is good, not boring at all. We do outing, parties etc. on weekends or on project success or winning RFPs etc.

PwC is a place that always supported my growth and PwC personnel were always willing to impart knowledge whether it was through trainings or whether on the job. There was never a single movement where people weren't willing to guide you and help you grow in your career.

Dislikes

I was with PwC for 4 years and I was a bit unhappy that the salary structure for new joinees was considerably higher than the ones who had stayed loyal to the firm. Either way PwC still remains one of the best experience and companies I've worked for

Work

Being in a due diligence role the work was always super challenging and with some seniors quite hectic and involved a lot of late nights. Somehow it always felt worth it at the end of the day. PwC truly cares about its employees well being.

The company promotes on the job learning and really pushes the boundaries on what a new employee can deliver in his initial days. There is no such learning or development plan that is there at the company and while this does helps you grow it also makes you feel at times that if there was some training given then you could have handled the situations better. Every project is team based and fortunately I got a great team to work with so that was a very good experience for me. There is also the fact that if you perform then potential for growth is enormous.

Dislikes

The work life balance is awful, given that most of the work is based on client site and clients are local, you can be asked to work on Saturdays and Sundays. Work from home is often not there and you can say goodbye to long holidays as always there is a resource crunch and you are the only person related to your area of expertise, so you cannot take long leaves.
