You get time for yourself and family. If you have any parallel activity planned(higher education, research, etc) then it is good otherwise not good. Free food. Only good for management roles and not good for technical. Good for female candidate but not good for someone looking for technical growth.

Dislikes

90% process or, documentation activity and only 10% technical activity. Technical growth will be 0 or, may go down to negative also if you are not doing anything paraller to it. It is purely maintenance activity and no development, nothing from scratch. It is MSR and not AUTOSAR. Work more on .xml and not in c/c++. They fool external guys saying Hardware, development, driver, MATLAB, AUTOSAR, system knowledge, bla-bla but they provide only warning removal activity and no development activity. BOSCH/RBEI uses its own tools which is not standard in outside market, even the standard tools like MATLAB is optimized for BOSCH so you won't get the feel like using MATLAB, moreover management say they don't have budget itself to buy MATLAB license whereas other competitors already migrated to MATLAB and AUTOSAR. so having more experience in BOSCH will make you non-sellable in market because of your 0 or, (-)ve technical growth. Package/money wise also not good. On-site decreased like anything, they say no budget. Top level politics is common. Company performance decreased last 3 years from 1.9/2 --> 1.4/2 --> 1.1/2 so this year expect it to be 50% or even less. Management policy is to get the work done from fresher candidates than the experienced and capable ones. If you want to join Bosch then join only as a manager or, GRM (a completely useless, heavily paid position with no benefit/outcome for the company, just like govt. job)

Quality of the product delivered is the focus at any stage of the project. Good campus. No micro management in few teams. Once proved, you will always be trusted for the quality of the work. Located at centre of the city. Can apply for leave on the same the day you wish to take it. Process is good. Process defines your work boundary very well. Food is good and hygiene. Work life balance is good in some teams, but terrible in some other teams. Good place for those who aspire to be managers.

Dislikes

POLITICS! POLITICS and only POLITICS. Salary and rate of hike is the worst. Complete politics for ON-Site opportunities. Those who deserve will never get it. No respect for technical career path oriented associates. It is definitely not a good place for technical career enthusiasts, absolutely not. You will be forced towards management career path. They have tools to that does the job like calculations and analysis for you and all you have to do is enter the data and see the result. Process is too complex and will take most of your time away not letting you concentrate on technical activities. Some work very hard and some hardly work and the hard working will never get what they deserve. Career growth is poor. Repeated task, even senior members have to simple, cheap and repeated tasks. Talent and experience is not recognised and simply wasted. It is not easy to get a team change. Managers have no technical knowledge. Managers have poor judgement capabilities about employees

Work

I work for one of most challenging project and customer out there where work load is heavy.

Company does not have enough career growth opportunities for its employees. The company is good for freshers but is not good for experienced candidates. Keep in mind that if you intend to join this company and if you happen to be from the electronics and computer science background don't join in NE1 division which is power train division. With the advent of electrification the business for power train has gown down and so is the market share. The reporting structure of this company is complex. Teams are divided in matrix structure format wherein work is distributed among many teams. So far with my experience of working here I feel that you will never get the real picture of what's happening. Learnig will be very slow as most of the stuff is completely related to engine, unless you have studied this as part of your education you will easily loose focus on what is that you are doing . Also most of the reference documents will be in German and understanding them would be one hell of a task.
I would highly recommend to all freshers to not work in this company for not more than 2 years.
As an employee who has been working in this company for 7.5 years now , I can say that I made a big mistake for being here such long.

Here are the pros-
*free food
*opportunity to go to germany
*relaxed culture
*you can get to learn a lot. (totally team dependent and very few good teams)
*location of the office. Since in center of the city. Easier to commute unlike other tech parks.

Dislikes

*In one line "a government company disguised as a private company".
*Too slow in terms of change.
*Old policies (though they are trying to change, it more like policies are changed such that they cannot be implemented. Ex: work from home)
*a lot of good work stays in germany and maintenance is pushed to india.
*mindset of the company is moving from product based to service based

Work was exciting in the team I worked for.

I was in Bosch for 1 year however it was one of my best experience in my job profile. I enjoyed the profile lot with the help of my teammates. You have to learn yourself though seniors were helpful however they don’t have very good knowledge which in turns pull you down. I have seen developers who don’t know the coding at all whereas I was in testing and helping them to develop products. They are hiring mostly from South India and that create hindrance in diversity.

Dislikes

The working culture was very good however the problem was in management. They are giving profile arbitrarily and for which the people with less talent are getting a profile which doesn’t fit to them and the whole productivity goes down.

Freedom if you want to innovate and create products of your own. There are options you can choose from to build the products with support from Management

Dislikes

High skilled engineers who stay long at Bosch will have lower salary compared to laterals who have lower skills. No salary correction culture exists at Bosch. So, engineers should go out and rejoin at higher salary if they need to have better salary.

Work

Engineering work is very good. But there is hectic process and overheads make the whole system sluggish and frustrating for engineers. Support system like purchase, logistics, finance, HR does not coordinate well to become agile and productive.

The company is awesome and highly recommended, for engineers or programmers. Please dont join here for Accounts Payable, its actually a waste, dont go behind brand name , to live one needs money, that they will not give. Even yearly hikes are like 4% and all.(iam only talking about CF/GSA , accounts payable . Other benefits from bosch is very good and its awesome . Dont go direcly to finance department, your life will be wasted..

Lot of politics and hiring people at high salary and then normalize their salary by giving no hike. Managers are good for nothing and don't know the issues during work. Very few teams work in latest technology. Other team work with bosch specific tools which are not used outside.

Work

It was hectic and Managers and HoD are not supportive. Lot of favoritism which breaks moral of team.

More than 10 years plus experience are useless in terms of knowledge and etiquette. If Bosch is looking for growth then don't look anywhere instead only the top bottle neck

Dislikes

Management in marathalli location branch is useless. Think twice before joining as only regionalism of particular location exist. Instead it is mini Kerala.

Work

Work is good. Its only terrible management and architects
