A good place to kick start your career. You would get to learn a lot of new things and would acquire a lot of skills. Their training is pretty good and you can easily pick up even if you are coming from a background with no experience.

Dislikes

I couldn't tolerate the internal politics. They are very biased. They would never let you grow if you express your opinion and interests openly. This is the Bengaluru newsroom.. Who you know is more important than what you know, which is absolutely unfair because your skill, knowledge & the ability to get the work done matters and not who you socialize with. Unfortunately Bangalore newsroom of Reuters doesn't work that way and disappointed me during my last phase there. I still remember my last day there because my team leader sent a very brief farewell email which was just for the sake of sending it while every other employee who had left the company and who belonged to other teams had got decent farewell emails. That shows how much biased the management is and they would screw you up to the extent that you would lose your self confidence.I quit without a job offer. But after 2 months, I got an offer from their competitor.

Work

I loved my work, but not the work environment.

I like how people work together and also help each other when needed. Training given to us was excellent. I like the balance between professional and personal kept here in TR. I am happy to be part of such wonderful organization and happy to work with my team here.

Dislikes

It's nothing which I don't like here in TR. People are professional and friendly too. what else we need a good work-life balance in life. But yeah I don't like food in the cafeteria. Sometimes it is good but mostly it's not. Food keeps us healthy and fit, it is the most crucial part of our lives and I believe we should good.

Work

I am working in TR for 1 year now and what I found is it is a very good place to work. We will have challenges in every organization, wherein in you have to deal with on your own and few we have helping hands always available like here in TR.

I had a wonderful experience working in the company. When I joined in 2016 our manager Namrata was really helpful, inspiring, smart and cooperative lady even though she worked from Singapore. The work environment was really chilled out yet interesting. Our team comprise 8-9 people who were really friendly and cooperative. It was a good learning experience with all of them. Our team lead took proper care of all the team mates. Except the laidback HR (as many of my friends would say) other departments would response quickly. As an analyst we didn't get to travel. It was a memorable learning experience, working a year, at the company.

Dislikes

Just the laidback response from HR. I wish they had more offices within and outside the city.

The company is open to new ideas and latest technologies. Company provides a great work life balance and very comfortable work environment. It is easy to reach to mid management. Managers are very open to listen to new ideas and to provide all possible supports to the employees in crisis situations. The company has great teams with healthy work culture.

Dislikes

Nothing in particular. I am happy to be here.

Work

Challenges and work pressure depend on projects. Honestly, dead lines are not that tight and employees have enough time to meet deadlines comfortably.

Thomson Reuters life style and management was good few years before, however in last few years frequent changes on the structure which caused confusion also it become Manager's Likes to keep the employee or not; no value for the Hardwork and sincerity and HR do not discuss with employee or with manager before taking any decision on firing the employee.

The company offers free training and classroom sessions to develop the skill set. Every information is clear and organized if you need any. One can find complete support and encouragement if s/he has innovative ideas to make work easier.

Dislikes

Management styles differs from manager to manager, so your job satisfaction might also depend on who is the manager you would be working with.

Work from home is allowed and this is good for balance. However, as a Sr Manager you may end up attending calls 15/16 hr a day, due to team's geographical spread. Overall the company culture is good

Dislikes

Outsourcing of important roles to other cheaper service company is a threat, to both knowledge and roles. Career progression scope is very limited. HR people are clueless as they are not well experienced. HR is not up to the mark compared to other companies

Work

It was exciting and learning opportunity was there. But after outsourcing that got limited

Thomson Reuters is a very brand to brand to work with where you can shape your career. The work environment is awesome and we do have extra co-curricular activities often. As compared to other companies we have less work pressure with the good shift. Thomson Reuters strictly follows work life balance culture.

Dislikes

The only think which I dislike about Thomson Reuters is the career growth is very slow in terms of promotion and compensation also.

Work

Hectic in peak time otherwise it's manageable.

Work life balance is good and the work hours are flexible (depends on team though)

Dislikes

Growth is stagnant, bureaucratic culture and back biting is prevalent, learning is almost non-existent as you would spend most time in getting around systems in place due to several acquisitions made by thomson in recent years, thus making processes complex and time consuming, yet lacking any real growth or learning opportunities

Work

Boring and uninspiring, but well paid
