Wolters Kluwer is a multi division company which has 4 main divisions - Legal, Health, Tax & Accounting and Governance Risk and Compliance. Therefore, the evaluation of the company from an employee's point of view is a highly subjective exercise depending on which division the employee belongs to. Further, the company has mostly grown inorganically over the past decade so some of the employee feedback would really pertain to the legacy organization as cultural assimilation into a Wolters Kluwer culture is a slow ongoing process. Given this background, as an employee of the GRC division I would say the best thing going for the company is the work culture and collaboration among the team mates. There is a certain degree of freedom in the work space which helps in creative thinking. Work life balance is good for the most part except periodic crunches induced due to poor planning.

Dislikes

Job security is a bit lower as the business line (FRR) is not doing too well from a topline growth perspective. Training & career growth opportunities are limited as this is a flat organization which is struggling to generate adequate revenues to sustain research and development initiatives. Salary/Appraisal is lower than market when compared to a pay to responsibilities framework. So, in absolute terms the pay may be matching market levels but when normalized for the responsibilities each employee handles then it is on the lower side. Innovation has been practically non-existent as the business line is on a strict sustainability mode.

Work

Feedback about work would depend on one's role. Wolters Kluwer GRC -FRR is a good place to work for Functional Analysts. However, for software developers, testers, project managers etc there are better places to work due to old technology stack etc

Bad experience. Even though company is leading provider of Legal Domain solutions / products & services, there is no career growth and also company did not meet targets last year. People at senior technical positions are having lot of work pressure due to company performance last year.

Dislikes

Work culture. Shift for support work is round the clock but even when working at peak of night, manager can shout when they find some work not done as they are expecting but employee cannot be blamed as it may not be poor work. Some managers don't allow employees to speak and employees do somehow get their share of daily dose everyday. Demoralizing experience!!!

Work

Initially went well, I thought it maybe a good company. But, at a later stage, no big challenges at work. Company did not perform well last year which is a cause of concern.
