No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Dislikes

No work life balance. Lot's of work pressure. No overtime compensation. Though they say you can a week day off if you work on weekends but that never really happens. 3-5% appraisal lowest anyone could get.

My teammates were good however the management was not good enough. I was working as a intern and after the completion of my internship they didn't gave me full time role.

They will fire you because of their own mess ups

I was hired back in January 2015. Ankita and Mayank took my interview and I was hired to manage the google adwords account for their client max life insurance. I was new to google adwords. On my joining day they asked me who took my interview because I told them I know very little about google adwords. They later handed over the max life insurance google adwords account to me to manage. The account had so much in it and was very very complicated. I was asked to complete all google adwords certifications which I did. No one gave me any download of whats going on in the account let alone training me on google adwords account or helping me manage it. I was working with Mayank who didn't help me at all and used to play games on his mobile phone all day in the office. On a friday when I went to him for help he said "don't come to me for work on a friday. I don't work on fridays and I don't want to help you". I was so new to google adwords I didn't even know where to start. They just gave me the account and asked me to manage it and I was all alone begging people to help me. No one did. Mayank didn't care about it and other managers were very busy managing their own accounts. After 6 months because they hired the wrong person, messed up in my interview and to save themselves they fired me. I went into depression. I even tried to reach out to HR and next level management but all in vain.
