There is nothing to like. Salary is extremely poor. You won't get promoted even if you deserve. CSC faculties from the worst possible colleges get through over here and get the highest salary. But faculties from best colleges from other disciplines will get worst possible salaries because there is a caste like system operating in this college which is highly discriminatory in nature.

Salary is Very Low as compared to Universities of this Level, Some Leadership positions (HoDs/Directors) are held by very incompetent people whose only qualification is X number of years served in Manipal. They make the environment very bad and demotivates good talent.

On time salary. Everything is structured and planned.

Dislikes

Too much rigidity. Too much paperwork. No scope to innovate. Too much coddling of students. I felt more like a clerk doing data entry late into the night, than a professor. And sometimes I felt I was hired to be a counsellor rather than to teach in class. The students are seen as customers who are to be made happy regardless of their performance in class. Their pay structure depends on how many guests you called for lectures, how many papers you published, how many FDPs you organized etc. etc. So obviously no focus on quality, only on quantity. Senior faculties will hound you to support them in these activities. Also, a lot of mind numbing committee work is dumped on junior faculties.

On time salary, 5 days in week, comfortable work environment, PF, Gratuity, NPS, Medical. if salary amount isn't a big issue for you, the best place to work. You'll get enough Holidays, leaves to live your life or to spent time with your family.

salary is comparatively less than the market. 30 Km away from Jaipur. Newly joined Assistant Professor (Non- Engineering) will get 50K in hand

Manipal University, MAHE, Manipal is very much known for the following: a) Fantastic work-life balance b) Wonderful learning opportunity, good research resources c) Good stay on campus and good quality of life. d) Faculty who want to do research and publish, for them it is heaven. e) In the Department of Commerce, the research databases, such as Bloomberg, CMIE, Capital Line, EBSCO, Emerald, Wiley, SAGE, and Springer .. almost all are fully subscribed.. F) in many cases APC charges are also reimbursed.

...) Such discrimination is prominent in the Department of Commerce, MAHE Manipal. e) Salary hike is rare. increments are very less.
