The organisation has no culture at all.

1)You get good exposure, management is very supportive, they teach you the skills required for the job and more 2)Best in services provided for employees like no other, insurance support, transport, cafeteria etc is the best in the market

Dislikes

Appraisal, increments are low, your salary will not match the competition if you stick around longer. But HR won't hesitate to pay as per the demands if you are joining from outside. So staying loyal is not reaping any benefits.

My Experience with Nomura was fantastic and I will always cherish & recommend this firm blindly. Pros, 1. Best in class insurance policy with zero co-pay which covers parents and in-laws with very minimal premium and I can bet no firm will be able to provide the same kind of insurance policy. 2. Shift allowance is cake on a cherry compare to Peers especially for US shifts. 3. Nomura is an employee oriented firm and who tries to take of employees as much as possible. 4. Provides Centralized AC bus service free of cost for people working in general shift and also centralized pick up for people working in EMEA hours. 5. Nomura Powai office is not less than a 5-Star Hotel with all high class amenities inclusive of desktops and chairs for your day2day BAU. 6. Nomura will always assist and guide you if you are keen to learn new things 7. Canteen service is available at Subsidized rates.

Dislikes

Despite of so many prons it has list of cons which requires improvement. 1. Promotion Cycle is mainly basis on tenure hardly people achieve promotion basis on upfront skills. 2. Increment and Bonus is low compare to Peer firms because the firm financial statement is not so strong 3. In the Initial Six months of joining you to go through 3-4 written assessment related to investment bank irrespective to your process and if you failed even after 2-3 attempts you can be fired as well. 4. Decision making process and applications are outdated but the systems are high class. 5. In some process people are working right form LEHMAN Brothers so they have high class of attitude they fee nomura is working because of them and they show their tantrums to new joiners. 6. You will be recognized only if you have good relations with onshore or you are a old member of the team.

Nomura is an excellent place to work where emphasis is on employee well being and security with the best in class medical insurance and office infrastructure. There is high level of accessibility to higher management locally as well as to regional management. For people looking to making a career in the IT Division the focus is on innovation and there is a conscious effort to leverage leading edge technology and processes. The people you meet in Nomura are friendly, motivated and who you can build lasting relationships with.

Dislikes

The compensation as compared to peer banks needs to be revised upwards and also the career paths at higher levels like VP/ED needs to be chalked out more broadly so that Nomura does not lose talent they have cultivated over a decade (literally) because they are unable to have broad inclusivity at that level and people invariably have to look for opportunities at peer banks who are more willing and have more opportunities at that level.

...-Medical benefits are great but salary is salary so negotiate hard and do not take first offer that the HRs hand out to you. The salary negotiators here like everywhere else are Chindi. -If you think you joined at low and would be able to come to par then 'No' it does not happen, I have been there so I know. -No matter how less your salary is management will keep on pilling up work on you knowing that all that work is getting done at 1/3rd of the price. - If you have got any loans etc liabilities then make sure you keep a sad song handy and keep on singing it every now and then in office because else they would assume you belong to a Rich business family and you are working just to keep yourself busy.. in short if you cry you get a good hike. - ED and above have very archaic mindset..you try giving them insight about what is happening in other peer banks and they will always shoot down your ideas saying they know everything. They have a very restrictive thinking and are never curious about new things.

Dislikes

pls refr abv also join Nomura when it is doing well financially as it gets very much reflected in your hikes
