The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. Eventually, I had an honest, data-backed conversation with my manager. Turns out, I was right and they revised my pay. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me this: silence doesn’t protect you. Companies run on numbers. If you don’t negotiate, you leave money on the table. Have you ever been in a similar spot? How did you navigate it?

Opportunities to prove your mettle and rise to challenges. Team bonding is great. This is a bunch of people with their hearts in the right place. New ideas are welcome provided they fall within the organisation mandate. Youngsters are mentored if they show potential to stick around for longer. Performance is rated and good performers are rewarded. Most of the senior staff has been with the organisation for more than 10 years. There is stability for conservation professionals.

...and are able to work around such minor hurdles. Lack of stable, professional HR. WTI really needs to amp up its salary structure for non conservation roles, (finance, marketing, HR, communication) as a higher pay elsewhere leads to high attrition in such roles.

Wti provides the good atmosphere for learning new things and give the freedom for implementing new things.

Dislikes

Salary increment is the biggest issue in wti and sometimes senior management is running wti like a lala company. Company have policies but they use the policies according to personal interest. They only celebrate the onam festival in office but they never celebrate Holi Diwali in the office and i never get a any bonuses from wti in any festival.
