As a quantity surveyor engineer, I calculate the values of material quantities and initiate the project by following a systematic construction process.

I review the project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
I take off quantities from the drawings and identify the materials required for each element of the project.
I use software or manual methods to calculate the quantities accurately.
I prepare a bill of quantities (BOQ) which includes detailed itemized lists of materials, labor, and equipment required.
I estimate the costs of the materials based on market rates and prepare a cost estimate for the project.
I collaborate with the project team to finalize the quantities and costs before the construction phase begins.
I ensure that the project is initiated with the right quantities of materials and a clear understanding of the cost implications.

Accepted Answer

Firstly we will consider the required grades in different steps and we will calculate throughly each material with grade systems and estimating process .Intial start will be based on the given site location and provided maps by architect Engineer.
