If I see any client's portfolio which is on losses, then my first thought would be either he manages on his own and doesnt know much, or he takes someone else's advise and is not looking into his porrfolio throughly. I would first try to understand his portfolio, then I would see his annualized returns. I would try to win his trust first, by adding some value into his portfolio and making some profit out of it.
