"VHA" could stand for "Very Healthy America." Founded in 1977, VHA provides health care industry-related services to members who join the company's cooperative network. VHA serves about 1,400 not-for-profit hospitals nationwide. Its members also include some 30,000 non-acute health care organizations such as imaging centers, home health care agencies, and pharmacies. Services include financial analysis, clinical improvement programs, public policy advocacy, and supply chain management. Additionally, VHA's members can purchase medical supplies at a reduced cost from Novation, a joint venture VHA has with University HealthSystem Consortium. The organization is led by CEO Curt Nonomaque, formerly VHA's CFO.
