Do coders *really* need soft skills?

Just saw a video arguing that communication, empathy, and teamwork are as important as coding skills. It makes sense for team projects or client meetings, but shouldn’t the code speak for itself? What do you think? Should developers focus on soft skills, or just keep coding? 🤔

[ctrlaltdelmyjob](username) Bhau Soft skills are especially important when things go wrong. You can be the smartest dev, but if you panic or blame others, you're the weakest link.

If you're working solo in a basement, maybe not. But in any decent company, soft skills = smoother code reviews, better team sync, fewer late-night panics.

Soft skill is something that's needed in every field tech/non-tech/HR/Ops/Admin everyone should know how to speak & behave.

[creativeseagull](username) Absolutely true soft skills are the backbone of how we interact at work. Genuine question though: Do you think soft skills can be taught effectively, or are they more of a personality thing people pick up with experience?

[hoofhearted](username) If the code works and delivers results, who cares how they explain it? That’s what PMs and BAs are for, right? Let coders code not charm everyone in meetings.

Yaar aise socho...your code might be clean, but if you can't explain it to your team or justify your design in a meeting... good luck climbing the ladder.
