Daily Office Life

I received this email from HR this morning...the wording is a bit vague, and no one has directly addressed it yet. We’re working from home, and I’m continuing with my daily tasks, but this has definitely raised some concerns.

Is this a layoff mail?

I always thought Bengaluru was a city of educated, progressive people. Today, that image shattered completely.

It started in the morning at work. A male colleague looked me up and down and said, “What are you even wearing? If you want to pull guys, do it somewhere else, not in corporate.” I was wearing a strappy top with high-waist jeans. I just stared at him for a second, kept my face blank, and got back to work but his words kept running in my head all day.

Later, in the office parking lot, the security guard kept staring at my outfit and, to my shock, seemed to be trying to take photos of me. By the time I realised, he quickly turned away, pretending nothing happened. Then, while parking my car at home, a Zomato delivery guy gave me a look so filthy I can’t even describe it.

Three different men, three different settings, all in one day. If this is the reality of Bengaluru, I don’t know how much longer I can live in this toxic environment.

I used to believe Bengaluru was different. Today proved me wrong in three ugly moments.

I recently heard about a candidate who asked for a “Rain Allowance” during an interview, and at first, I laughed. But now I think he might actually be onto something.

During monsoon, his Ola/Uber fares shoot up because of rain and waterlogging. So he suggested

Pay extra during rainy months

Let him WFH on rainy days 

Or allow him to come late if it’s pouring 

He explained that in July, his travel cost literally doubled. He even asked the interviewer if they used Ola/Uber and told them to compare this month’s expenses with a normal month.

And guess what? When they actually checked… he was right. The whole month’s usual fare had been spent in just 15 days. Even on a regular rainy morning, prices were more than 2x.

Now I’m thinking… maybe “Rain Allowance” isn’t such a wild idea after all. In fact, I might just need it myself 😅 What do u guys think?

Adulting

Today, I was just 2 minutes late to work and my boss scolded me like I committed a crime. Honestly, I’m done with working under someone else’s rules. I so badly wanted to get up and leave the room in full confidence without caring about others. I wish my parents were rich enough that I could just live stress free without this daily pressure. 
 
Adulting feels like a full time struggle. I’m constantly worried about rent, bills, and all the expenses that never seem to end. If only my parents had saved or planned something for me, I’d be chilling at home with no worries, maybe a Dubai house, some properties, and cars lined up like a showroom. Instead, I’m stuck in this corporate grind, feeling exhausted and frustrated every single day.
 
It’s hard not to feel bitter sometimes. I hate that I have to work so hard just to get by while dreaming of a life that seems so far away. I just wish my parents had set me up better so I wouldn’t have to stress like this.

I Blame All My Corporate Misery on My Parents (And I’m Not Even Sorry

1. Yeah, Holidays plan with your family, and you are the one who will do everything, book tickets, book cabs, and get stuck in traffic and arguments with your wife when she leaves makeup at home.  "That's actually my fault."

2. Take your flight on time, and suddenly your kids are hungry. Pack the food immediately and take off. 

3. Reached there, ask the hotel manager and cab driver ...collect all IDs at reception ..go to the room, then again plan....for lunch and also decide what to eat for lunch. Again wife gets upset because I have not ordered her food!!!

4.  Go back to the hotel and plan what to do the next day, and sleep.
5. Same task on repeat.
6. Now check for a going back flight and pay the bills with a heavy heart, and again fight with your wife because she forgot your luggage. Argument-->Argument-->Never ending

Who will care for me?
Is this a vacation?
I am the only one who suffers from this?
it's feels like ....corporate tension only!!!
I don't want this long weekend!!!
