I received this email from HR this morning...the wording is a bit vague, and no one has directly addressed it yet. We’re working from home, and I’m continuing with my daily tasks, but this has definitely raised some concerns.

Is this a layoff mail?

I always thought Bengaluru was a city of educated, progressive people. Today, that image shattered completely.

It started in the morning at work. A male colleague looked me up and down and said, “What are you even wearing? If you want to pull guys, do it somewhere else, not in corporate.” I was wearing a strappy top with high-waist jeans. I just stared at him for a second, kept my face blank, and got back to work but his words kept running in my head all day.

Later, in the office parking lot, the security guard kept staring at my outfit and, to my shock, seemed to be trying to take photos of me. By the time I realised, he quickly turned away, pretending nothing happened. Then, while parking my car at home, a Zomato delivery guy gave me a look so filthy I can’t even describe it.

Three different men, three different settings, all in one day. If this is the reality of Bengaluru, I don’t know how much longer I can live in this toxic environment.

I used to believe Bengaluru was different. Today proved me wrong in three ugly moments.

Indians are so dumb sometimes. I mean, we’re literally turning corporate offices into full-on desi kitchens. Bro there’s this one guy in my office who legit carries elaichi powder in a steel dabba because “plain tea doesn’t taste good.” Yesterday I actually saw him put saffron in office tea. Saffron! In a corporate pantry!

Corporate tea is supposed to be quick caffeine to survive the day, not some shaadi wali chai masala mix. And every day, this guy blocks the pantry line like he’s running a tea stall in Chandni Chowk. We’re all just standing there with our mugs, waiting, while he’s busy playing chef. Bro, seriously??? Who the hell does this in an office?

Just for office hours, can’t people adjust? This obsession with bringing full on desi habits into work is totally killing the authentic corporate culture. We complain about not having “global” workplaces, but we’re the ones turning them into spice markets. Indians are dumb sometimes and I say this as an Indian.

I didn’t join corporate for this nonsense.

I’m honestly scared. After hearing about that terrible incident at the daycare in Noida where a baby was hurt by someone who was supposed to care for her it hit too close to home.

Me and my husband both work full-time, and we leave our little one at daycare every day. But now? I don’t even know what to think. How do you trust someone with your baby when stories like this keep popping up?

The parents found bite marks on their baby, thought it was an allergy at first. Then they saw the CCTV and it showed the poor baby being hit and even dropped. How do you even process that?

The worst part? The daycare owner didn’t stop it and then even threatened the parents when they tried to speak up. It’s just heartbreaking.

I’m seriously scared and confused. What do other working parents do? How do you decide where to leave your child and feel safe?

If anyone’s been through this or has advice, please share. I just want my baby to be safe and happy.

Someone gave the reality to these HR....they deserve this... 
When they ghost the candidates, that's not unfair, but leaving after 1 month and taking the salary is unethical. 
They need to think of their ethical sense first.

A taste of one’s own medicine

In today’s one-on-one, my manager gave me a list of negative feedback.
Honestly, the worst day ever. 
I have been silent ever since. I have been working hard every day, but his criticism really disappointed me. 
I don’t know how to deal with this right now. Please help!!
