Khane ke liye hi toh kama raha hu" One line that exposed a toxic work culture 💔

A middle manager in India allegedly stopped an employee from taking his lunch break. The reason? “Work first, food later.” But what stood out wasn’t the manager’s behavior it was the employee’s response: "Khane ke liye hi toh kama raha hu, aur yahan aap mujhe khana khaane se hi rok rahe ho." The employee chose to go ahead with his lunch anyway. His manager? Started ignoring him after that. This news is going viral cz this isn't just about food. It’s about dignity. About basic respect. About how hunger is still being overruled by hierarchy in some workplaces. Yes, many managers today are kind and understanding but stories like this show that toxic thinking still exists in some corners of the workplace, where skipping lunch is weirdly seen as a sign of dedication

happened with me in my current company only but a different vertical. My manager called n said it’s important send it first then go to eat. I was in middle of eating , but I had to go and complete the task, I left my food in middle and when I came home I was crying like a baby. Then my mum said, “ Beta khaane ke liye hi kama ri hai and khaane bhi ni dere toh ese kaise chalega, then I started responding smartly to my manager.

[boredinlife](username) Calling someone in middle of lunch, and then asking, to complete work is cruel man!

If the manager is human enough then he'll reflect on his actions and just apologise. Otherwise if he's toxic then he will create problems for him.

[kartavyakabulava](username) Anybody put in a position of power is toxic, they just need a gentle push.

I've experienced such managers a lot before! And most of the times, the HR and company side with them. Even after complaints, they don't do much to them. Ek manager toh meri itni toxic thi din raat kaam karati thi weekends par bhi, aur ghar Jaane ke time par muh ban jata tha aur phir next few days very passive aggressive. Ajeeb sa psychological torture tha. One day I had a severe migraine headache, ye koi meeting me thi so I left after messaging her (told her that having a severe headache, will need to take an emergency half day leave), and then once she was back she did so many angry messages to me saying bina kaam complete kiye kyun gaye. Maine hr me complain kari but nothing happened lol, eventually Mai he fire hogaya multiple reasons deke ki culture me blend nai hota and performance nai acha. I approached HR and even the founder (it was a 100 log jitna startup), but nothing happened. Indian hustle culture xoxo!!

Few years ago, I was in a similar situation. I still regret not being able to stand up for myself and letting my manager treat me like shit!
