Day to Day Office

This morning, I walked into the office as usual, nothing extraordinary.
Then suddenly I heard ..................
"This task has been pending for weeks. When I say PRIORITY, I mean PRIORITY!"
 I turn around, the CEO giving a reality check to my manager.

And in that moment... a cold breeze passed. A different level of relaxation.
Somewhere deep inside, a voice whispered: “See... karma is a b*t*ch.”
The sukoon I felt? Haven’t felt it in years.

First time after my joining...I was happy, and the manager was sulky.

And me? Mentally prepping: “Shaam ko daaru khulegi is jashn mein.”

Career Growth

I spent the last 2 years picking up more projects, volunteering for every new task, even mentoring juniors unofficially.
I thought this was the year I’d get promoted.
Instead, I got a “keep doing what you're doing and do more ” and a 3% hike.
My manager says I’m “reliable enough to do my job properly ” but not “leadership material yet.”
I don’t know what that even means anymore.
Is it me? Or is visibility and perception really everything in corporate growth?
How do you make sure your work actually gets recognized?

VIsibility issue or image issue

I’m just relieved I got out in time...I was with [Genpact](genpact) till last month.

Genpact wants its employees to start working 10 hours a day 5 days a week...that's 50 hours weekly. And this isn't for a startup or leadership role. It's for freshers.

Entry level roles with 10 hour shifts? are you serious? In 2025? When we’re talking about 4 day workweeks and burnout awareness?

I’m not saying people shouldn’t work hard....we all do. But let’s stop pretending this is normal or productive. Longer hours don’t mean better output. In most cases, it just means more stress, more health issues, and faster exits.

If you don’t trust your team to perform in 8 hours, maybe it’s not the employees who need training.
Or 2 extra hours me koi kuch vaise bhi nahi ukhaad raha.

10 hour workdays? Glad I quit Genpact

So… here’s something I never imagined I’d be typing.

I’m in an arranged marriage, not bad, not toxic, just… okay. 
We get along, do the basics, and go through life. 

But then something happened that no one could’ve predicted.

After our wedding, my husband’s younger brother joined the same company I work for.

At first, it was harmless. We commuted together, grabbed lunch, shared laughs, and Sometimes even ended up sitting next to each other during long office meetings. It was all in good spirits. 

Until it wasn’t.
I started feeling something I shouldn’t.
I think I'm attracted to him. Maybe I made the wrong choice. 

Everyone at work even says we should've met and married each other. I kinda feel the same, and I think he's also attracted to me, but we've never said anything. 
Now I’m stuck in a loop.
Should I divorce my husband, confess my feelings, and marry his brother? Or Stay like this?
I'm so confused!

Indian Startups

You won't believe my senior has a good corporate job with over 10 years of experience.  
But suddenly resigned just a few days after his wedding.
We all thought maybe he got married and wants to spend his time with his wife, and decided to go to his place to give him a proper farewell. 

All of us got shocked after knowing that he left because his father-in-law gifted him a fat cash amount and a car in the name of "blessings."
He’s using the money to fund his startup and the car for "business movement."
I mean seriously?
People are now using dowry as startup capital and walking around acting like CEOs, playing boss with someone else’s money.
Bas, shaadi karo aur apne sapne chalu karo, courtesy sasural.
I don't know feeling inspired? Or disgusted?
