Test Engineer - Selenium/Cypress (5-7 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our growing team in Udaipur.

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with a strong analytical mindset, passionate about ensuring the quality and reliability of software products.

You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies, focusing heavily on automation, to deliver robust and high-performing software solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Strategy & Planning :

- Coordinate and manage the planning of system and acceptance tests, including security testing.

- Define and communicate the overall test strategy for projects and programs.

- Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases based on requirements and specifications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, business analysts) to understand project

requirements, provide test estimates, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Test Execution & Automation :

- Design, develop, and execute automated tests using relevant frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Appium).

- Maintain and enhance existing automation test frameworks, ensuring integration into CI/CD pipelines.

- Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, API, and potentially security testing.

- Perform data analytics to assess business performance and recognize improvement opportunities related to quality.

Defect Management & Reporting :

- Identify, document, and report software defects and issues clearly and concisely.

- Investigate product quality to identify root causes of non-conforming software and work closely with development teams

for timely resolution.

- Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts, and prepare detailed reports and metrics for senior management and stakeholders.

- Verify that identified issues are resolved effectively.

Process Improvement & Mentorship :

- Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement.

- Contribute to corporate testing standards and the definition of best practices.

- Continuously evaluate and implement new testing tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.

- Mentor junior QA engineers, sharing best practices in automation testing and fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Work collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning and review meetings.

- Effectively communicate findings, explain complex technical issues, and advocate for quality practices across the team.

- Manage client relationships with respect to testing matters for projects or programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience : Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in software testing, with a strong emphasis on automation testing.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in test automation frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Appium.

- Strong programming/scripting skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).

- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).

- Solid understanding of database concepts and ability to write SQL queries for backend testing.

- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail).

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

- Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.

- Familiarity with cloud testing environments and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) is a plus.

Methodologies :

- In-depth understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

- Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
