Position Summary:
- We are looking for a high-performing and visionary Sales Head to drive business growth, strategic sales initiatives, and team development in West Bengal for our range of PVC water pipes and storage tanks.
- The role is critical to scaling up our operations, strengthening our channel network, and ensuring sustained market leadership.
- The ideal candidate will bring deep regional expertise, a well-connected distributor and dealer network, and a hands-on leadership style.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Management:
- Develop and execute comprehensive regional sales plans aligned with company objectives, revenue targets, and market expansion goals.
- Forecast sales volumes, identify emerging market trends, and implement corrective strategies as needed to ensure consistent growth.
- Ensure pricing strategies and margin controls are adhered to in accordance with company policies.
Territory Development & Channel Expansion
- Identify and onboard new distributors, dealers, and channel partners to enhance regional market penetration.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key trade partners and institutional buyers.
- Monitor and optimize channel performance through structured audits, incentive plans, and regular engagement.
Team Leadership & People Development:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 15+ field sales executives across various districts of West Bengal.
- Set clear KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a high-performance, target-driven culture.
- Organize training programs to upskill the sales team on product knowledge, market trends, negotiation, and customer service.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis:
- Stay updated with evolving customer preferences, competitor activities, pricing models, and technological advancements in the PVC product space.
- Recommend product modifications, new offerings, and promotional campaigns based on regional feedback and market needs.
Operational Excellence & Reporting;
- Coordinate with internal departments like logistics, marketing, finance, and customer service to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of sales performance, distributor activity, market visits, and expense reports.
- Submit detailed weekly/monthly reports to senior management, highlighting key wins, challenges, and action plans.
Brand Growth & Visibility:
- Work closely with the marketing team to execute brand-building activities, local events, dealer meets, and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure uniform brand messaging and visibility at all retail touchpoints in the region.
Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of core sales experience in PVC pipes, storage tanks, plumbing solutions, or closely related building material products.
- Must have worked exclusively in West Bengal throughout their career and possess deep insights into the region's distribution dynamics.
Leadership:
- Demonstrated ability to manage large, decentralized sales teams and build leadership pipelines within the region.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.
Channel Knowledge:
- Excellent command over distributor and dealership ecosystems in both urban and rural markets of West Bengal.
- Ability to quickly mobilize and stabilize new territories.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in Bengali, with good command of English and Hindi.
- Tech-savvy with working knowledge of CRM tools, MS Excel, and reporting dashboards.
Preferred Attributes:
- Previous experience in scaling brands from mid-size to large-scale presence.
- MBA is a must
- Network with government contractors, builders, and institutional buyers is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the state to support field operations.
